Part B. Identify the technical terms

1. Ampacity - The maximum electrical current (Amperes or "Amps") that can safely exist in a
particular size of conductor is defined as wire ampacity.

2. Accessible - Accessible means that it can be removed or exposed without causing damage to
the building's structure or finish, or that it is not permanently closed in by the structure or
finish of the building.

3. Cable - In electrical and electronic systems, a cable is a conductor or collection of conductors

used to transfer electric power or telecommunication signals from one location to another.

4. Concealed - Electrical wire buried in walls and in inaccessible ceiling framing sections is
referred to as concealed wiring.

5. Branch Circuit - A branch circuit is an electrical wiring system component that extends from
any group of outlets all the way back to the fuse box, providing and protecting them.

6. Fuse or circuit Breaker - If a malfunction in an appliance causes too much current to flow,
the fuse trips the circuit. If something goes wrong, this safeguards both the wire and the
appliance.

7. Flexible Unit - Flexibility, defined as a power system's capacity to adapt to changes in

demand and supply, is a feature shared by all power systems.
8. Electrical Fixture - Fixtures are electrical devices that hold and connect bulbs to an electrical
source. The intended use, kind of light fixture, bulb type, and electrical requirements are all
important criteria. Lights are used to provide illumination in industrial, commercial, and
residential settings.

9. Demand Factor - The demand factor is the ratio of the greatest demand on an electric-
power system during an allotted period to the load actually connected during that time,
generally represented in per cent.

10. Feeder - The demand factor is defined as the ratio of a system's (or part of a system's)
highest demand to the total connected load for that section under consideration. Demand
variables change depending on the load. The demand factor is always greater than or equal
to one.

11. Conductor - A substance that permits electric currents (the movement of electric charges) to
pass through it is referred to as an electrical conductor. All metals conduct electricity. An
electrical conductor contains a large number of charges that are free to travel. Electrons are
the charges that are free to travel in a metal.

12. Insulators - Electrical insulators are materials with high resistivity that may be used to create
things with high resistance. Insulators can use this to keep electric current from going where
it is not intended. Insulators can be used to coat wires or as dielectrics in capacitors.

13. Electrical Metallic Tubing - Steel-based robust casings that route individual electrical wiring
conductors in a building or structure and protect the wires from impact, moisture, and
chemical vapors are referred to as electrical metallic tubing.

14. Faulty Wiring - When there is an electrical fire in the Philippines, this phrase is used. An
electrical system will not work or function if it is defective in the first place.

15. Grounding - Grounding is an electrical principle that might be perplexing to homeowners. It

is necessary to understand the nature of electrical energy flow in order to appreciate its
significance in a house wiring system.
