II. Output:

- Starts here below…

The value that I have chosen is benevolence. According to the reading,

benevolence defined as preserving and enhancing the welfare of those with
whom one is in frequent personal contact. Benevolence values derive from the
basic requirement for smooth group functioning and from the organismic need
for affiliation. Benevolence is very important because it is overcoming of the
limits of the individual self and its desires in spiritual contemplation and
realization. Benevolence provides centrality of positive, cooperative social
relations in the family, the main setting for initial and continuing value
acquisition. This value practically and concretely guide me in my moral way of
living by letting me realize how essential to interact and seek connection with
other people and with my family. It helps me to build trust, accepting other
people's emotions, and validating them. Aside from that, it helps me to avoid
any conflicts or harms which promote peace. The other value that contradicts
benevolence is power. It contradicts in a way that they primarily concern
others’ interests but their goals also regulate pursuit of own interests. It is
more of self-enhancement or self-growth rather than outgoing or meeting
social standards. Benevolence promotes gain goals while power prevents in
gaining goals. An example is you were invited by your friends to go out, have
dinner out, and to party once in a while due to stress and demand from school
works and exams however as a demure type of person you neglected it
because you rather stay at home and enjoy on your own company. The worst
part here is there are moments and experiences out there waiting for you to
enjoy it however you missed it because of fear, shy, or conservation values.
It is okay to live out what you have grown but it is more essential to be open
to change and to become a better version of yourself.
