PAMPLONA, Maynalyn Y.

3BSA-A

On the sunny afternoon of September 11, this picture was taken. I am not a
pro or any good at photography but I decided to use this picture as I
realized that the principle of design is present here. I took this picture as I
was amazed by how beautiful the flowers are, there are also sunflowers
there but I decided to take a picture of this simple flower. Admiring the
beauty of nature runs in our blood, however, nature has its beauty that is
different from art. Framing the beauty of nature into art is challenging.
What you see in reality is different from what you can capture. Thus, by
using the principle of designs, a photograph can be better. First, the
harmony. Harmony uses the elements of art such as color, texture, shapes,
space, value, and form to create a sense of togetherness, to make one
capture to be the bigger picture. In this picture, I realized that the different
colors of the butterfly, flower, and grass behind them are in harmony.
They may be in different colors but once you look at them, it gives the
sense of completeness like it was made to be there, to make them more
beautiful. The green color of the grass makes the bright color orange of the
flower to be cooler and pleasing to see with naked eyes. Additionally, you can also see the emphasis on
the picture. From the mixture of colors, the green background emphasizes the flower as it is the highlight
of the picture. When you look at the flower, it will lead you to look at the butterfly on the top left side of
it. The color of the butterfly may be a camouflage to the grass behind it, however, the bright color of the
flower leads you to look at the beauty in it, the little butterfly.
