The Schools Division of Masbate led by Nene Rosal-Merioles, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, with the two Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, Fernando C. Macaraig and Joel E. Caolboy successfully gathered the strongest stakeholder, the Local Government Unit Leaders of the entire Province of Masbate with Vice Governor Elisa T. Kho, Second Legislative District Representative Olga T. Kho, Governor Antonio T. Kho represented by Marlon L. Ditan, Executive Assistant, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members of the three Legislative Districts, Municipal Mayors, Vice Mayors, and Sangguniang Bayan Member Chairpersons of the Committee on Education, DILG Provincial Director Ben Paul M. Naz and the Public Schools District Supervisors of the 32 public schools districts of the Division of Masbate present, the 2022 LGU Forum at Magallanes Coliseum, Masbate City this August 30, 2022 has been conducted. KNOWING THE SCENE; FILLING THE GAP The hampering effects of COVID-19 Pandemic producing an approximately 80-90% learning losses among Masbatenyo learners has driven SDO Masbate to intensify its Learning Recovery Plan (LRP) aiming to recover these losses as classes started to be in person-to-person modality. Schools Division Superintendent Nene R. Merioles has presented to stakeholders the context of education in Masbate squeezed from different data sources revealed by the standardized assessment tools of DepEd and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) status formed into an analyzed situation per municipality where the LGU leaders can focus more in their efforts in delivering service along education and to collaborate more with DepEd to address these gaps as revealed and to ensure attainment of the Learning Recovery Program and Strategic Directions nailed in SAIL 2028. FEATURED BOOTHS The programs, projects and activities (PPAs) primarily enabling the realization of the goals for the betterment of learners have set up PPA Booths. These are BriGADA BASA (Bridging Generated Assistance from Dedicated Advocates on Books Appreciation toward Students' Advancement), Brigada BILANG (Better Instructions toward Loving Arithmetic to Address Numeracy Gaps), Project REV UP 2.0 (Revitalize Enabling Vision Thru Unlimited Program 2.0 for Learning Resources) ELSG (Exemplary Leadership and School Governance) Academy for School Heads and Masbate Teachers, Masbate Sports Academy (MSA), DRRM-PFA (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management-Psychological First Aid) where stakeholders can easily gather information on how the PPA addresses the challenges and how it is implemented are presented in an easy grasp together with the areas for possible collaboration. This activity was considered by SDS Merioles as an anchor in realizing her favorite line in SDO Masbate Hymn: Hand in hand with the leaders, teachers and the whole community, every noble dream of Masbatenyos will come true. With the 2022 LGU Forum, SDO Masbate sees the second phase of the creation of its dreams for Masbatenyo learners.
