The Crucible

UNIT 1

EVIDENCE
In my 10/11 grade placement at
Waterford Kettering High School I
taught an entire lesson on "The
Crucible"

Narrative
I had not read "The Crucible" in many years but
was very excited to take on this unit since I knew
I could make it interesting for the students. The
pacing guide for the curriculum gave me
standards from The Michigan Common Core
Standards which helped me design my lessons
to make them effective for learning. The
content was accessible and easily attainable fo
me to gather and understand before teaching.

REFLECTION
I had an extremely enjoyable time teaching "The
Crucible". The content was fun to teach and using
the standards given I was able to create interesting
lessons that kept the students engaged and
interacting with the text. Because the text was so
accessible I had very minimal problems with
students struggling. For ESL students I gave them
an entire Crucible book translated into Spanish for
them to easily access the text as well. If notes were
taken, students with accommodations received a
copy of these notes.
