Every generation is unique - and technology is one of things that makes this present
generation different from the past generations. It is said that today’s generation is known
to be the digital natives as we were born at the age where we are surrounded by the
technologies and are used to it. In the sector of education, technology is being
integrated to give better learning experiences to the students. In Language education,
ICT Integration is a must in order to improve their language learning.

In the readings, there were various educators and researchers that provided the
following concepts and principles about integrating technology in instructions. According
to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Education (UNESCO), ICT
integration is not about mastering the hardware and software skills; it is about the
integrating ICT to organize classrooms to structure the learning. In that way, the use of
ICT will become an automatic and natural response to requirements for the learning
environment.

The International Society for Technology of Education (ISTE) stated that effective
integration of technology is achieved when students are able to select technology tools
to help them obtain information. This statement of ISTE is true because it is way easier
for the student to use a technology that is comfortable for them to use. In that way, it will
ensure efficient learning. For instance, I am more into using Zoom rather than Google
Meet though I know how to use both.

As a student, I know how technology helps us to have better learning experiences as it

maximizes our learning resources which helps us to acquire more learning. I myself
have acquired a lot of learnings through technology in improving my language, like how
to use words correctly, pronouncing words, and proper speaking etiquette.Especially in
this situation where we are in a pandemic, it is indeed a great help for us learners to
have continuous learning through distance learning.
