Present Perfect Continuous

We use present perfect to connect to something in the past to the present.

Example  I’ve lost my purse. Can you find it?

The action of losing the purse is recent. The consequence is now.

Present perfect continuous has a strong connection to the present and it can be used in two ways;

1) To describe the length of an ongoing action.

Example  She’s been working hard all day.

Usually we use for and since to show the length

Example  Mrs Hannah has been teaching English for some times already.

 Mrs Hannah has been teaching English since 1992.


2) To describe the effect of recent action or situation.

Example  She’s tired because she’s has been working hard all day.
