The Fast Growth of Esports

In recent years, Esports or Electronic sports have become widely popular; so much in fact that it
was a part of the 30th South East Asian Games, held on our national soil, and 31st South East
Asian Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Various gamers and fans of online gaming are pleased to
have these kinds of competitions for the SEA Games. 

Varieties of electronic games exists like FPS, MOBA, and also RPG games were attracting
millions of games worldwide that has a rapid growth in the industry that added to the scene of
competitive and physical sports. Competitive tournaments like The International (Dota 2),
League of Legends World Championship (League of Legends), CS:GO Majors (Counter Strike:
Global Offensive) were the Esports that are on the rise and they do not look to be slowing down
anytime soon. 

There’s a study done on older adults played Super Mario 64 for 30 minutes a day, five days a
week for six months. The researchers found increases in three of the major areas of the brain: the
prefrontal cortex, the right hippocampus and the cerebellum. The fundamental requirement to be
good at gaming is hand-eye coordination. 

Almost every Esports requires it and the ones that come to mind for being the most "similar" to
sports that were using equipment like tennis, basketball, volleyball, etc. What makes gaming and
Esports unique is the requirement for asymmetrical hand-eye coordination. "The "grand plan" is
to go beyond the region's 655 million population and reach a much larger global audience
through Esports."

Said Jarre Osias, spokesperson of SEA Games Organizing Committee. (PHISGOC) The sports
commission of the country did an excellent job at giving convenient gaming gears and equipment
as the Esports seem to boost viewership of biggest SEA Games ever. 

Even though some people say that Esports doesn't meet the standards of a "traditional" sport. But
there are benefits of playing this revolutionized sport, as it enhances the strategic mind of every
player and it also gives enough enjoyment and competitiveness like any other Traditional Sports'
Yes. It is not "traditional", but the essence of leadership, unity and teamwork makes the sport
competitive. 

Moreover, Esports helps to lower stress levels so it will also help many people playing it.
Perhaps this hooks many of us to gaming; gaming can be a great way to deal unnecessary stress.
Getting away from stress and engage in a game we can enjoy and do relief to your health and
peace of mind. As the world is moving towards more technical and online aspects, our sports
should not be left behind. So, it is better to embrace changes because it will help to engage more
people in gaming and to the competitive online sports. 

People should support players to develop their passion at their heart who give pride and honor to
each country they represent. The impact of Esports will give a significant change to the game as
it will help and entertain many just like traditional sports that we have.
