PALARONG WESLEYAN 2023 CONCLUDES

Concluding the return of university intramurals, the Wesleyan Community gathered at the
university gymnasium for Palarong Wesleyan 2023, around 10PM on March 24 until
passed12AM on March 25.

The Closing Programme showcases the Team Dance Competition from College of Arts and
Sciences, College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), College of Education, College of
Engineering and Computer Technology (CECT), College of Hospitality and Tourism
Management, College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences, and for the first time, College of
Criminal Justice Education (CCJE).

For the Word of Thanks, Supreme Student Council President Sarah Sabra, and Office of Student
Affairs Director Prof. Joepet Portana expressed their gratitude towards the attending students, the
participating athletes, the organizers, the OSA, the SSC, the College Local Councils, the CCJE
Marshalls, Red Cross Youth, WUP’s offices, staffs, and administrative personnels, the masters of
ceremony, and Genre—the Central Student Publication of Wesleyan University - Philippines.

“The Palarong Wesleyan 2023 was not just an opportunity for students to showcase their athletic
abilities. It is also a chance for the community to come together and celebrate our shared love of
sports and competition,” said Sabra in her speech.

She also said that these intramurals also ‘brought back the spirit of camaraderie and
sportsmanship that we’ve been deprived of during the pandemic phase.’

What's more, she expressed that the sense of community, sportsmanship, and friendly
competition that these intramurals offered was a much-needed respite from the difficult period of
the pandemic.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the
university intramurals. Your hardwork, dedication, and commitment have made this event a true
showcase of our university spirit. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the
future.

This year's Ceremonies were especially memorable, with CBA Dragons achieving the highest
title of Overall Champion and CONAMS Lions and CECT Tigersharks taking the 1st and 2nd
Runners Up positions, respectively.
