Genesis Chapter 6 ‫ית‬ ‫ְּב ֵר אִׁש‬

‫ְּפ ֵני‬-‫ ָלֹרב ַע ל‬,‫ֵה ֵח ל ָה ָא ָד ם‬-‫ַוְיִה י ִּכ י‬  ‫א‬ 1 And it came to pass, when men began to
multiply on the face of the earth, and
.‫ ֻיְּלדּו ָלֶה ם‬,‫ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה; ּוָב נֹות‬ daughters were born unto them,
‫ְּב נֹות‬-‫ָה ֱא ֹלִה ים ֶא ת‬-‫ַוִּיְר אּו ְב ֵני‬  ‫ב‬ 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of
men that they were fair; and they took them
‫ ִּכ י ֹטֹבת ֵה ָּנה; ַוִּיְק חּו ָלֶה ם‬,‫ָה ָא ָד ם‬ wives, whomsoever they chose.
.‫ ִמ ֹּכל ֲא ֶׁש ר ָּב ָח רּו‬,‫ָנִׁש ים‬
‫ָידֹון רּוִח י ָב ָא ָד ם‬-‫ ֹלא‬,‫ַוֹּיאֶמ ר ְיהָוה‬  ‫ג‬ 3 And the LORD said: 'My spirit shall not
abide in man for ever, for that he also is
,‫ הּוא ָב ָׂש ר; ְו ָה יּו ָיָמ יו‬,‫ ְּב ַׁש ַּגם‬,‫ְלֹעָלם‬ flesh; therefore shall his days be a hundred
.‫ֵמ ָא ה ְו ֶע ְׂש ִר ים ָׁש ָנה‬ and twenty years.'
,‫ ַּב ָּיִמ ים ָה ֵה ם‬,‫ַה ְּנִפ ִלים ָה יּו ָב ָא ֶר ץ‬  ‫ד‬ 4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those
days, and also after that, when the sons of
‫ֵכן ֲא ֶׁש ר ָיֹבאּו ְּב ֵני ָה ֱא ֹלִה ים‬-‫ְו ַגם ַא ֲח ֵר י‬ God came in unto the daughters of men, and
‫ ֵה ָּמ ה‬ :‫ ְו ָיְלדּו ָלֶה ם‬,‫ְּב נֹות ָה ָא ָד ם‬-‫ֶא ל‬ they bore children to them; the same were
 .‫ ַא ְנֵׁש י ַה ֵּׁש ם‬,‫ַה ִּג ֹּבִר ים ֲא ֶׁש ר ֵמ עֹוָלם‬ the mighty men that were of old, the men of
renown. {P}

‫ ִּכ י ַר ָּב ה ָר ַע ת ָה ָא ָד ם‬,‫ַוַּיְר א ְיהָוה‬  ‫ה‬ 5 And the LORD saw that the wickedness of
man was great in the earth, and that every
‫ ַר ק ַר ע‬,‫ֵיֶצ ר ַמ ְח ְׁש ֹבת ִלּבֹו‬-‫ ְו ָכל‬,‫ָּב ָא ֶר ץ‬ imagination of the thoughts of his heart was
.‫ַה ּיֹום‬-‫ָּכל‬ only evil continually.
‫ָה ָא ָד ם‬-‫ָע ָׂש ה ֶא ת‬-‫ ִּכ י‬,‫ַוִּיָּנֶח ם ְיהָוה‬  ‫ו‬ 6 And it repented the LORD that He had
made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at
.‫ִלּבֹו‬-‫ ֶא ל‬,‫ָּב ָא ֶר ץ; ַוִּיְת ַע ֵּצ ב‬ His heart.
‫ָה ָא ָד ם‬-‫ ֶא ְמ ֶח ה ֶא ת‬,‫ַוֹּיאֶמ ר ְיהָוה‬  ‫ז‬ 7 And the LORD said: 'I will blot out man
whom I have created from the face of the
‫ ֵמ ָא ָד ם‬,‫ָּב ָר אִת י ֵמ ַע ל ְּפ ֵני ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה‬-‫ֲא ֶׁש ר‬ earth; both man, and beast, and creeping
‫עֹוף‬-‫ֶר ֶמ ׂש ְו ַע ד‬-‫ ַע ד‬,‫ְּב ֵה ָמ ה‬-‫ַע ד‬ thing, and fowl of the air; for it repenteth Me
.‫ ִּכ י ֲעִׂש יִת ם‬,‫ ִּכ י ִנַח ְמ ִּת י‬ :‫ַה ָּׁש ָמ ִים‬ that I have made them.'

}‫ {פ‬ .‫ ָמ ָצ א ֵח ן ְּב ֵע יֵני ְיהָוה‬, ‫ְו ֹנַח‬  ‫ח‬ 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the
LORD. {P}
‫ֹנַח ִא יׁש ַצ ִּד יק‬-- ‫ ּתֹוְלֹדת ֹנַח‬,‫ֵא ֶּלה‬  ‫ט‬ 9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah
was in his generations a man righteous and
,‫ָה ֱא ֹלִה ים‬-‫ ֶא ת‬ :‫ ְּב ֹדֹרָת יו‬,‫ָּת ִמ ים ָה ָיה‬ whole-hearted; Noah walked with God.
 . ‫ֹנַח‬-‫ִה ְת ַה ֶּלְך‬
,‫ֵׁש ם‬-‫ֶא ת‬--‫ ְׁש ֹלָׁש ה ָב ִנים‬, ‫ַוּיֹוֶלד ֹנַח‬  ‫י‬ 10 And Noah begot three sons, Shem, Ham,
and Japheth.
.‫ָיֶפת‬-‫ָח ם ְו ֶא ת‬-‫ֶא ת‬
;‫ ִלְפ ֵני ָה ֱא ֹלִה ים‬,‫ַוִּת ָּׁש ֵח ת ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬  ‫יא‬ 11 And the earth was corrupt before God, and
the earth was filled with violence.
.‫ ָח ָמ ס‬,‫ַוִּת ָּמ ֵלא ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬
‫ ְו ִה ֵּנה‬,‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ַוַּיְר א ֱא ֹלִה ים ֶא ת‬  ‫יב‬ 12 And God saw the earth, and, behold, it was
corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way
‫ָּב ָׂש ר‬-‫ִה ְׁש ִח ית ָּכל‬-‫ ִּכ י‬ :‫ִנְׁש ָח ָת ה‬ upon the earth. {S}
}‫ {ס‬ .‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ ַע ל‬,‫ַּד ְר ּכֹו‬-‫ֶא ת‬
‫ָּב ָׂש ר‬-‫ ֵק ץ ָּכל‬, ‫ַוֹּיאֶמ ר ֱא ֹלִה ים ְלֹנַח‬  ‫יג‬ 13 And God said unto Noah: 'The end of all
flesh is come before Me; for the earth is
,‫ָמ ְלָא ה ָה ָא ֶר ץ ָח ָמ ס‬-‫ִּכ י‬--‫ָּב א ְלָפַני‬ filled with violence through them; and,
.‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ ֶא ת‬,‫ִמ ְּפ ֵניֶה ם; ְו ִה ְנִני ַמ ְׁש ִח יָת ם‬ behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
‫ ִק ִּנים‬,‫ֹגֶפר‬-‫ֲעֵׂש ה ְלָך ֵּת ַב ת ֲעֵצ י‬  ‫יד‬ 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; with
rooms shalt thou make the ark, and shalt
‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה; ְו ָכַפְר ָּת ֹאָת ּה ִמ ַּב ִית‬-‫ַּת ֲעֶׂש ה ֶא ת‬ pitch it within and without with pitch.
.‫ ַּב ֹּכֶפר‬,‫ּוִמ חּוץ‬
‫ ְׁש ֹלׁש‬ :‫ ֲא ֶׁש ר ַּת ֲעֶׂש ה ֹאָת ּה‬,‫ְו ֶזה‬  ‫טו‬ 15 And this is how thou shalt make it: the
length of the ark three hundred cubits, the
‫ ֲח ִמ ִּׁש ים‬,‫ ֹאֶר ְך ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬,‫ֵמ אֹות ַא ָּמ ה‬ breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it
.‫ ּוְׁש ֹלִׁש ים ַא ָּמ ה קֹוָמ ָת ּה‬,‫ַא ָּמ ה ָר ְח ָּב ּה‬ thirty cubits.
‫ַא ָּמ ה‬-‫ ְו ֶא ל‬,‫ֹצַה ר ַּת ֲעֶׂש ה ַלֵּת ָב ה‬  ‫טז‬ 16 A light shalt thou make to the ark, and to a
cubit shalt thou finish it upward; and the
‫ ְּב ִצ ָּד ּה‬,‫ ּוֶפַת ח ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬,‫ְּת ַכֶּלָּנה ִמ ְלַמ ְע ָלה‬ door of the ark shalt thou set in the side
,‫ָּת ִׂש ים; ַּת ְח ִּת ִּים ְׁש ִנִּים ּוְׁש ִלִׁש ים‬ thereof; with lower, second, and third stories
. ‫ַּת ֲעֶׂש ָה‬ shalt thou make it.

‫ַה ַּמ ּבּול ַמ ִים‬-‫ ִה ְנִני ֵמ ִב יא ֶא ת‬,‫ַוֲא ִני‬  ‫יז‬ 17 And I, behold, I do bring the flood of
waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh,
‫ּבֹו‬-‫ָּב ָׂש ר ֲא ֶׁש ר‬-‫ ְלַׁש ֵח ת ָּכל‬,‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ַע ל‬ wherein is the breath of life, from under
‫ ֹּכל‬ :‫ ִמ ַּת ַח ת ַה ָּׁש ָמ ִים‬,‫רּוַח ַח ִּיים‬ heaven; every thing that is in the earth shall
.‫ ִיְג ָוע‬,‫ָּב ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ֲא ֶׁש ר‬ perish.

, ‫ ִא ָּת ְך; ּוָב אָת‬,‫ְּב ִר יִת י‬-‫ַוֲה ִק ֹמִת י ֶא ת‬  ‫יח‬ 18 But I will establish My covenant with
thee; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou,
‫ ּוָב ֶניָך ְו ִא ְׁש ְּת ָך‬,‫ַא ָּת ה‬--‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ֶא ל‬ and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons'
.‫ָב ֶניָך ִא ָּת ְך‬-‫ּוְנֵׁש י‬ wives with thee.
,‫ָּב ָׂש ר ְׁש ַנִים ִמ ֹּכל‬-‫ָה ַח י ִמ ָּכל‬-‫ּוִמ ָּכל‬  ‫יט‬ 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two
of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to
‫ ָזָכר‬ :‫ְלַה ֲח ֹית ִא ָּת ְך‬--‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ָּת ִב יא ֶא ל‬ keep them alive with thee; they shall be male
.‫ ִיְה יּו‬,‫ּוְנֵק ָב ה‬ and female.
‫ַה ְּב ֵה ָמ ה‬-‫ ּוִמ ן‬,‫ֵמ ָה עֹוף ְלִמ יֵנהּו‬  ‫כ‬ 20 Of the fowl after their kind, and of the
cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing
 --‫ ְלִמ יֵנהּו‬,‫ ִמ ֹּכל ֶר ֶמ ׂש ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה‬,‫ְלִמ יָנּה‬ of the ground after its kind, two of every sort
shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
.‫ ְלַה ֲח יֹות‬,‫ְׁש ַנִים ִמ ֹּכל ָיֹבאּו ֵא ֶליָך‬
‫ַמ ֲא ָכל ֲא ֶׁש ר‬-‫ ִמ ָּכל‬,‫ְלָך‬-‫ְו ַא ָּת ה ַק ח‬  ‫כא‬ 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is
eaten, and gather it to thee; and it shall be for
,‫ ֵא ֶליָך; ְו ָה ָיה ְלָך ְו ָלֶה ם‬, ‫ ְו ָא ַס ְפ ָּת‬,‫ֵיָא ֵכל‬ food for thee, and for them.'
.‫ְלָא ְכ ָלה‬
,‫ ְּכ ֹכל ֲא ֶׁש ר ִצ ָּוה ֹאתֹו‬ : ‫ ֹנַח‬,‫ַוַּיַע ׂש‬  ‫כב‬ 22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God
commanded him, so did he.
.‫ֵּכן ָע ָׂש ה‬--‫ֱא ֹלִה ים‬
