GENERAL FLYING PROCEDURE

GENERAL FLYING SECTOR’S


• BARAMATI AIRSPACE IS DIVIDED INTO 3 MAIN
SECTOR’S
• SECTOR NORTH , SECTOR SOUTH AND SECTOR
OVERHEAD
• Please refer to Sector Layout Diagram below for
layout of sectors.
 The general flying area is between 3nm to 5nm for sector
north and sector south

 Overhead sector is restricted to both the threshold laterally


in a box pattern in a boundary of circuit flying area

 There are 4 altitudes to fly in sectors i.e


3500FT,4000FT,4500FT,5000FT. Keeping 500 ft of
separation between the traffic in each sector.

 To fly at any altitude above 5000ft or beyond 5nm out of


baramati you need clearance (fic/adc and squawk) from
pune and mumbai control.

EACH SECTOR ARE GIVEN IN THE TABLE BELOW.

SECTORS JOINING PROCEDURE FOR GENERAL
FLYING
• FOR JOINING SECTORS FOR GENERAL FLYING, AIRCRAFTS WILL GET CLEARANCE FROM TOWER
FREQUENCY 129.250MHZ AND
• FOLLOW THE GENERAL RULES MENTIONED BELOW.

• TAKE OFF FROM RUNWAY IN USE, CLIMB ON RUNWAY HEADING TO


2500FT,3000,3500,4000,4500,5000

• THEN VIA CLIMBING TURN, TURN RIGHT/LEFT (90/135 DEGREE) RESPECTIVELY (HEADING
NORTHERLY/SOUTHERLY) AS PER SECTOR ALLOTTED BY ATC AND CLIMB TO ASSIGNED
ALTITUDE

• LEVEL OUT AT ASSIGNED ALTITUDE AND PROCEED 4 NM OUT NORTHERLY/SOUTHERLY TRACK.

• AT 4NM THEN TURN TO HEADING OPPOSITE TO RUNWAY IN USE (EASTERLY/WESTERLY). (LEVEL


MEDIUM TURN 30 DEGREE BANK OR LESS)

• MAINTAIN EASTERLY/WESTERLY TRACK AND HEARBY MAKING RACE COURSE PATTERN KEEPING
GROUND FEATURES IN SIGHT

• ALL PILOTS WILL REPORT “ESTABLISHED IN SECTOR” WHEN WITHIN RADIAL/DISTANCE/ALTITUDE


PARAMETERS AS APPLICABLE TO THE SECTOR BEFORE COMMENCING ANY EXERCISE.

• WHEN IN SECTOR, “OPERATIONS NORMAL” CALL EVERY 10/15 MINUTES WILL INCLUDE
SECTOR/DISTANCE/ALTITUDE.
Departure from Runway 29 for Sectors

• CLEARANCE 1: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 2500(MSL)/500FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (90 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM

• CLEARANCE 2: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 3000(MSL)/1000FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (90 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM

• CLEARANCE 3: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 3500(MSL)/1500FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (90 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 4: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 4000(MSL)/2000FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (135 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 5: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 4500(MSL)/2500FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (135 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 6: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 5000(MSL)/3000FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT (135 DEGREE) TO
JOIN SECTOR SOUTH/NORTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• OVERHEAD CLEARANCE: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING (AT ASSIGNED ALTITUDE 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500,
5000 ) TURN 180 DEGREE TO REPORT OVERHEAD AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) AND STAY IN BOX PATTERN OVERHEAD
BETWEEN THE TWO
• THRESHOLD.

• NOTE : CLIMBING BEYOND A3500 AND ABOVE ALWAYS MAKE A 135 DEGREE TURN JOIN SECTOR SO THAT YOU DO
NOT CROSS 5NM AIRSPACE BOUNDARY
Departure Runway 11 for Sectors

• CLEARANCE 1: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 2500(MSL)/500 FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT
(90 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM

• CLEARANCE 2: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 3000(MSL)/1000 FT(AGL) TURN


LEFT/RIGHT (90 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM

• CLEARANCE 3: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 3500(MSL)/1500 FT(AGL) TURN


LEFT/RIGHT (90 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 4: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 4000(MSL)/2000 FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT
(135 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 5: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 4500(MSL)/2500 FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT
(135 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• CLEARANCE 6: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING 5000(MSL)/3000 FT(AGL) TURN LEFT/RIGHT
(135 DEGREE) TO JOIN SECTOR NORTH/SOUTH AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) BEWEEN 3-5NM.

• OVERHEAD CLEARANCE: AFTER DEPARTURE CLIMB RWY HEADING (AT ASSIGNED ALTITUDE 3000,
3500, 4000, 4500, 5000 ) TURN 180 DEGREE TO REPORT OVERHEAD AT (ASSIGNED ALTITUDE) AND
STAY IN BOX PATTERN OVERHEAD BETWEEN THE TWO THRESHOLD.
• NOTE : CLIMBING BEYOND A3500 AND ABOVE ALWAYS MAKE A 135 DEGREE TURN JOIN SECTOR
SO THAT YOU DO NOT CROSS 5NM AIRSPACE BOUNDARY
REJOIN FROM A SECTOR
• On 129.250 report your sector , altitude maintaining and dme distance and ask for
rejoin.

• Atc will instruct you to report overhead from present position at assigned altitude.

• After reporting overhead atc will instruct you to descend in a box pattern.

• The box pattern is followed from threshold to threshold with the displacement equal to
the circuit pattern

• Descend to altitude 2800 (circuit altitude) is only made in dead side ( right downwind)of
the runway in box pattern

• After rejoining report abeam live dumbbell and get approach sequence for intentional
go around .

• On finals approach report initating go around at 200ft(agl) to join left hand ciruit pattern
and land.
