e-Balangibog: An Initiative on Knowledge -sharing and training on

Innovative Technologies

On November 14, 2022, the first day of our webinar series, "E-Balangibog: An
Initiative on Knowledge-sharing and Training on Innovative Technologies," focused on
the topic of "Environmental Stewardship with Solid Waste Management and Ecobrick
Technology." This webinar was held in partnership with the College of Arts and Sciences,
and it brought together experts in the fields of environmental science and engineering to
discuss the latest innovations and best practices in solid waste management.

At 9:00 AM, Ms. Ginalyn Reforda-Subroso, an expert in environmental awareness,

gave a presentation on the importance of environmental awareness in promoting sustainable
development and protecting the natural world. She discussed the various ways in which
individuals and communities can become more aware of the environmental issues that affect
their lives, and she emphasized the need for education and engagement in order to drive
positive change.

Following Ms. Reforda-Subroso's presentation, Ms. Marilyn A. Siguenza, an expert in

solid waste management, gave a presentation on the importance of managing solid waste in a
sustainable and responsible manner. She discussed the latest techniques and technologies for
reducing, reusing, and recycling solid waste, and she introduced the audience to the Ecobrick
technology, which uses recycled plastic waste to produce building materials. Ms. Siguenza
also discussed the various courses and training programs that are available to help individuals
and communities learn more about solid waste management and Ecobrick technology.

After the presentations, they opened the floor to questions and comments from the
audience. Many participants are interested in learning more about the practical applications of
Ecobrick technology and how it could be integrated into solid waste management programs
in their own communities. We also received several suggestions for future topics to be
covered in our webinar series.
