Dr.

Christian Thom Tabisola pitched the Binagoongang Bangus, a matured technology produced at the
PSU-DOST1 Food Innovation Center, during the PCCARD National Pitching contest and won first prize
Best in Technology Pitch Award on May 27, 2021.

FIC researchers were also named champions in the Creative Research or Likha Category of the Regional
Invention Contest and Exhibits 2021. Last October 29, 2021, the Mungbean Milk with Mango Flavor in
Retort Pouch received the First Prize for Outstanding Creative Research, while the Vacuum Packed Baked
Tupig received the Second Prize in the same category.

The Food Innovation Center (FIC) of Pangasinan State University - Bayambang Campus continues to
develop food innovations that outperform market hurdles. This was demonstrated at the recently ended
Technology Pitch for Inventors held on July 19-23 and 26, 2021 via Zoom during the Virtual Seminar
Writeshop on Technology Commercialization and Pitch Day for Faculty and Full-time Researchers among
IPTBM offices of ILAARRDEC. During the Technology Pitch Presentation, Dr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin
won first place and the Best Pitch award.

PSU-FIC was represented by Dr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin, who participated in the 5-day program, which
included technological commercialization, marketing and branding, business plan creation, and IP value,
among other things. Following rigorous training in poster and pitch preparation, Dr. Agustin collaborated
with video editors Mr. Adrian D. Veloso and Mr. John Alex Bumanlag to create the poster and video for
the Technology Pitch Day.

Dr. Agustin's Technology Pitch centered on Tupig, a delicious delicacy native to Pangasinan. Furthermore,
the technology pitch addresses the native food's problems and solutions.

PSU-FIC Researchers and Technology Developers Dr. Raquel C. Pambid, Head, FIC Center and
Coordinator, R&D office, Dr. Wilma De Vera, FIC Head Manager, Prof. Veronica Austria, Chair, Technology
and Livelihood Education, and Mr. Cyril John Domingo, Member, Technology Team created an innovative
technology that extends the shelf-life and overall presentation of the native delicacy.

The virtual graduation ceremony recognized the performance of the graduates through the following awards:

 Dominador A. Ayson, Jr. of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPC) for Carrot-Turmeric Tea;
 Julieta M. Casaul of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) for Pasteurized Fruit/Vegetable Blended Coconut Water;
and
 Ian Carlo M. Lositaño, also from CBSUA for Choppie: Mechanical Chopper for Plant Foliage.

The technology posters were evaluated by Dr. Edmund Centeno, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Educational Communication,
College of Development Communication, UPLB; and Dr. Paul Jersey Leron, Senior Science Research Specialist of the Technology and
Innovation and Promotion Section of the Council’s Applied Communication Division.

On the other hand, the panel of judges for the pitching competition include Atty. Bayani Loste, President-elect of the Licensing Executives
Society Philippines and Treasurer of the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. (APP); Engr. George Co, consultant of various companies like
Green Asia Agri Ventures, Quatrolubes Phils Inc., Green Care Solutions, and Simple Green Agri Solutions; the Mercato Centrale Group, headed
by its co-founders Mr. RJ and Ms. Vanessa Ledesma; Mr. Kris Moreno, Vendor Recruitment Head; Mr. Daniel Aguilas, Business Development
Head; Dr. Nerlita Manalili, Managing Director of Nexus Agribusiness Solutions; and Prof. Matthew George Escobido, Chair of the Sub-Committee
for Technology Innovations of the Management Association of the Philippines and Professor of the Asian Institute of Management. (Cherry B.
