***Mr. Brian Jenkins is performing his teacher candidate process at Abrams Elementary School in Bessemer, Alabama. His cooperating teacher, Ms. Shaesa Lewis,
teaches a fifth-grade class of 20 students. Mr. Jenkins has been a para-professional at the school for some time and is familiar with the students in his class as well
as their parents. Mr. Jenkins is looking forward to the teaching experiences to come.

In the video, Mr. Jenkins is giving instruction in phonics. He can be seen moving around the classroom as he motivates the students to actively participate. The
students appear to understand the strategies presented and are focused on the instruction.

Ms. Lewis indicated that Mr. Jenkins had already set the expectations for learning. All the students understood the goals and worked to accomplish them.

***Mr. Jenkins calls me several times a week to make sure he remains on an effective track with his teaching strategies. Mr. Jenkins spends a lot of time observing
and modeling strategies presented to the students by Ms. Lewis as well as reflecting over other instructional procedures.

Mr. Jenkins should continue to observe the modeling that is demonstrated by Ms. Lewis and reflecting with her so that he can construct additional strategies to
implement.
