AIM OF THE EXPERIMENT:

To simulate Half-wave rectifier (HWR) and Full-wave rectifier (FWR) circuits using LT-
SPICE and plot the input and output waveforms. Also simulate HWR with filter.

THEORY AND DESIGN:
SIMULATION:

1. Half wave rectifier (without filter)

Half wave rectifier (with filter)
2. Full wave rectifier
RESULT:
For half wave rectifier, after zooming the plot at peak value we observe some
difference (0.67 V) in the before and after rectification part.
Practically, Vm (peak voltage) >> Vd (diode voltage), so output of the rectifier
will be close to the ideal waveform.
Vm (out)= Vm (in) - 0.67 V

CONCLUSION AND INFERENCES:

Learnings:
1. Simulation of Half-wave rectifier and Full-wave rectifier circuits with and
without filter and getting the input and output waveforms.

2. To rectify half wave, single diode is used

3. To rectify full wave, two diodes and a resistor is used

4. When we use filter(capacitor), the rectification curve changes for half wave

5. Difference between peak values of input and output voltage is 0.67 V for half
wave rectification without filter.

Mistakes:
1. I placed diode in reverse direction that led to formation of wrong circuit

2. For transient analysis, I took the stop time as 20 millisecond that resulted in
incorrect waveform.

3. I didn’t mirrored the inductors that led to the dot in opposite direction which
led to wrong waveform.

4. I forgot to add grounding in the full wave rectifier circuit
