    Sub: A Leave of Absence Request Letter

    Dear Mr. Downing,

    I would like to kindly inform you that I will be taking my son to the hospital this coming Friday for a
    routine medical check-up. I have already booked an appointment with the doctor for 12 P.M. Humbly,
    therefore, I will need a whole day off to prepare the boy adequately and travel with him to Salt Lake
    City where the hospital is situated, approximately 200 miles away from where I live.

    In the meantime, Ms. Beatrice Kravekii will be sitting in for me until my return to work. She will update
    you regarding the progress of my project by the end of the working day. That said, I hope you will
    understand my situation and grant me leave from Friday to Monday.
