PROJECT PROPOSAL

(English for Academic and Professional Purposes)

I. PROJECT TITLE: Let’s Have Fun With The Multiplication Table!

II. RATIONALE/INTRODUCTION:
Mathematics is one of our needs in everyday living, and we can apply it whatever we do and
wherever we go. Acquiring basic skills in Mathematics like addition, multiplication, subtraction, and
division is very important because through this, people won’t struggle in different problems that
involves numbers. Multiplication, which is one of the basic skills in mathematics is really a huge
problem in most of the students. Multiplying numbers improves one’s ability in solving mathematics
problems. The exposure in different kinds of process in solving enhances the mental mathematics
technique.
Today, in new generation – the 21st Century, students are mostly engage in technologies that’s
why they cannot focus in their studies. In this situation, students depend on calculator or in different
applications in their cellphones or in the internet that can quickly answer their mathematics problems.
Hence, the interest of the students in memorizing the multiplication table lessen. Therefore, it is better
that the school will accommodate or cater a program for the student to master the multiplication table
and acquire the mental mathematics technique and also to avoid the Hand Multiplication.

III. OBJECTIVES
General Objective:
This aims to identify those students who lack of knowledge in multiplying numbers, and make
the enjoy solving mathematics problems.
Specific Objectives:
This aims to:
 enhance the ability of a student to perform such problems; make the students answer
quickly to the math questions given by the teacher; master the multiplication table and
make them multiply in simplest way.
 decrease the “Hand Multiplication” users; and
 gradually eliminate the manual strategy/technique in multiplying numbers.

With the cooperation and participation of all the people concerned, we hope that this project will
be successful in enhancing and developing the students in solving mathematics problems. And they can
master the Multiplication Table as well as the Mental Mathematics Technique.
