TAKE AND RECORD DICTATION AT THE STARTING RATE OF 40 TO 60 WORDS
A MINUTE (WAM) WITH AN ERROR TOLERANCE OF NOT MORE THAN 10
MINUTES TRANSCRIPTION ACCURACY.

I. Course Outcome : CO4: Demonstrate the ability to take dictation at the starting rate of 40 t
60 words a minute (WAM), read touch notes and translate different
touch shorthand abbreviations and derivatives.
: LO4.1: Take and record dictation at the starting rate of 40 to 60 words a
minute (WAM) with an error tolerance of not more than 10 minutes
transcription accuracy.
III. Time Frame : 5 Hours

IV. Introduction : In this session, the shorthand outlines appear in the speed dictation practice
which follows. Practice writing these words using the shorthand outlines.
