I. RATIONALE:

With the threat of the COvid-19 pandemic, learners do not report to school and are only able to
receive learning instructions through the alternative learning delivery modalities allowed in the new
normal setting.So, the status of learning in terms of reading ability of pupils became poor. Most of
the Grade 1 to 3 pupils cannot identify the letter sound or even a syllable.
In line with the Division Change Plan and the Division Project Reach, Shine, Build a Legacy, the
proponent intends to reach out to the teachers from Grade 1 to 3 to provide tutorial reading sessions.
The proponent also gives them chocolates, candies, or any finger foods as reward to the children for
having successfully accomplished the reading activity. Through this effort, the proponent wishes to
build a legacy of kindness and sincerity that can be felt by the learners reminding them that in every
accomplishment they did there is a reward awaited for them.

II. OBJECTIVES:
Project Basa Mo Premyo Ko aims to:
1. Sustain pupils interest in reading through rewards
2. Deliver reading instructions through tutorial sessions

2. Prepare prizes or rewards
3. Prepare reading materials
4. Implement Project
5. Submit Terminal Report

IV. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Project Basa Mo, Premyo Ko is an intervention devised by the proponent for Grade 2
pupils to sustain the interests of the learnes in education particularly reading through tutorial
delivery mode. Once a day after classes from December 2022 to May 2023, the proponent as
well as the Grade-1 to 3 teachers will conduct tutorial reading instructions to the pupils and
give the rewards after the sessions.
The proponent will use differentiated instructions based on the reading proficency of
the learners. Specifically, the proponent as well as the Grade 1 to 3 teachers will use a
combination of Marungko approach and Fuller method with readily available as well as
teacher-made reading materials.

V. BENEFICIARIES:
The beneficiaries of the project are the Grade 1,2&3 pupils of Rawis Elementary
School.
