ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN ENGLISH

for the Month of SEPTEMBER 2022

As a District English Leader, I make sure that every activity and program of the
Department of Education, specifically our division, supports them and makes all the
necessary reports to update our District’s progress.

This month, September 1, 2022, we administered the Phil-IRI GST from Grades IV-VI,
wherein we determined the literacy level of our pupils. This year’s result was quite
depressing. Given this, I appealed to all our school leaders to restore and relive reading
corners in every room and enhance reading interventions.

September 21, 2022, the Regional Pre-test in English results were consolidated.
Expectedly, the results were below average, and most teachers commented that the test
was beyond the level of the pupils.

English subject is one of the most challenging subjects that we have in our
curriculum. It is challenging for all of us to teach this subject and make our learners well-
equipped and literate in reading English materials. So as a District leader. I will constantly
remind our fellow teachers to increase their patience and dedication in teaching the subject.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN ENGLISH

for the Month of OCTOBER 2022

The administration of GST never stopped there. After determining pupils at risk and
pupils to be enhanced, the teachers were to prepare to extend their expertise in developing
our learners to be readers.

This month, English leaders were busy with their interventions. As a district Leader, I
make it a point that my lines and communication leeway are always active to answer their
queries and be able to share each other’s experiences.

I also remind them about the incoming celebration of National Reading Month. It will
ensure that our district is one in celebrating this yearly event.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN ENGLISH

for the Month of NOVEMBER 2022

The first day of class in November was quite stressful for all of us. It was the start of
the administration of the Pre-test in Phil-IRI. I forwarded the necessary materials through
the messenger. This test required all learners to read orally, and answer questions based on
the selection read. As expected, there are non-readers, most of whom belong to frustration.

This situation is very alarming on our part. It will affect our everyday teaching, for we
all know a slow pupil cannot comprehend easily. In this connection, I reminded all school
leaders to be strict in imposing our interventions and personally involve themselves in
supervising the said activity.

The last activity done in the English department was National Reading Month. It
started last November 7, 2022, and ended last November 29, 2022. The division office urged
us to pose our activities regarding this occasion in the link provided, which I forwarded to
them. Luckily, most schools in our district participated and posted their activities in the said
link.
