Make a unique and creative illustration based on Pigafetta’s descriptions…
 On September 8, 1522, the crew of the Victoria cast anchor in the waters off
Seville, Spain, having just completed the first circumnavigation of the world,
based on my preparation or knowledge of Pigafetta's descriptions in "First
Voyage Around the World." Antonio Pigafetta, a young Italian nobleman who
had joined the expedition three years prior and worked as Ferdinand Magellan's
assistant en route to the Molucca Islands, was on board. Magellan was no longer
alive. The Santiago had been shipwrecked, the San Antonio had been overtaken,
the Conception had been torched, and the Trinidad had been abandoned. Eighteen
of the 237 seamen that left Seville returned on the Victoria. Pigafetta and his
journal entries detailing the discovery of the western path to the Moluccas had
made it out alive. The fleet had stumbled over the Marianas archipelago, and
some three hundred leagues further west, the Philippines, along the route, new
country and new peoples on the opposite side of the Pacific.
Make a personal reflection on each Kartilya…
1. According to my interpretation of the first Kartilya, this suggests that they have
the resources they have in a negative way, not in a good way.
2. When I read the second Katilya, the second Kartilya based on me is self-interest.
3. The third kartilya, based on my experience, is that I serve as a self-serving
individual, thus I'd like to modify this lesson since I believe that a person who
believes in God loves and cares for their neighbor.
4. True, equality has nothing to do with skin color or socioeconomic status. Keep in
mind that it is not to say what kind of person we are, how we feel, or what we can
do in our lives. We are all individuals with the right to live our lives as we see fit.
5. He has a mind because he thinks about himself before committing suicide.
6. A person with a sense of shame or respect for his or her dignity does not simply
give up a word or a commitment that he or she will not keep. A promise or a
word means a lot to him. Because a person who takes a stand isn't simply making
a promise that he or she can't keep.
7. Time has been put on hold. You should be able to accomplish the good work of
not squandering the time you've lost, because you can't go back in time and add
to the significance.
8. Because of the time, there was a significant increase in people insulting and
proud of their good character or riches, so we protect the oppressed and separate
the oppressed. Because the downtrodden are not blessed by God as if they were a
demon destroying the might of a being, we must be allies. If the oppressed are
weak, lack courage, and lack self-confidence, the oppressor can easily topple
them because they lack the bravery and beauty to combat their oppression.
9. I think the wise man thinks carefully about what he has to say before he speaks,
and he knows how to control his tongue. if it had to be a secret he would not say
it or tell anyone. the wise man hath his tongue restrained.
10. His story begins with a look at the vertical relationship between husband and wife
during the Katipunan period; we can now claim that the parents lead the way and
the children follow.
11. Never think of a woman as an object to play with; instead, think of her as a
companion and helpmate. Give due regard to a woman's frailty, and never forget
that your own mother, who conceived and raised you from infancy, is a woman of
similar frailty.
12. It's reasonable not to do things we don't want to do, so you don't want to return to
them since they give you what you get.
13. For me, a man's worth is not determined by his social status, nor by the size of his
nose or the color of his skin, nor by whether or not he is a priest claiming to be
God's deputy. Even if he is a hill tribesman who only speaks his native tongue, a
man has great sensibilities and is loyal to his homeland.
