FOREWORD

Praise and gratitude for the presence of Allah SWT who has given us
the blessing of health and faith in us so that I can do this paper with
the title "how to learn English easily"

PIG
PRELIMINARY

1.1 BACKGROUND
Language is our means of communicating from one person to another. Without language
we will not be able to interact with people around us. For example, there are English people who
come to Indonesia, but we Indonesians don't understand English. So that person will not be able to
communicate with the Englishman.

In this era of advanced globalization, the importance of speaking English is very

necessary. Therefore, English education must be given to the education department from
elementary to university throughout Indonesia. However, often mistakes in learning methods
make students or students think that English is difficult

CHAPTER II DISCUSSION

A. ENGLISH LEARNING THEORY

English is an international language. It is very important to learn. In the world of education, in
the 90s English began to be studied in junior high school. However, in the 2000s English was learned
in elementary school and some even studied in kindergarten.

But even so, English is still considered difficult to learn. Why is English so not easy to master?
There are several factors that affect the difficulty of learning English. The first and the main factor
why English is so difficult to master is that English is not our mother tongue. The second factor is
the inadequate education system. In a sense, current English education practitioners, both
educators and those who are educated, both do not understand the theory and effective approaches
to be applied in learning English. The third factor, of course, is the internal factor, namely the
lack of seriousness of the English learner. themselves in learning English. Of the three factors, the
writer needs to discuss the second factor.

B. Some theories in learning English according to experts

1. Theory of Behavior (Behaviorism Theory)

According to its originators, Skinner and Parlov, language learning is a process habit
formation through activities: stimulus-response-reinforcement.

This theory underlies the emergence of the popular audiolingual approach in the 50s and 60s.
namely a method of learning English that emphasizes drill or repetition exercises. For example,
by the way the teacher pronounces sentences, and students repeat the teacher's words several
times. In other words,

This method is to memorize sentence patterns or English conversations by repeating them.

Weaknesses of this method:

the inability of students to make new sentences other than those that have been memorized.
And in fact, very few people can retain their memorization for long enough.

2. Cognitive Theory (Cognitive Theory)

According to Chomsky, in learning language, humans are created with cognitive abilities,
namely processing the input received and creating new sentences that are not limited in
number.

This theory underlies the emergence of a new approach in English, namely the
emphasis on grammar (Grammar).

Weaknesses of this method:

With this grammar approach, it is difficult for someone to use spoken English fluently,
because in spoken language a fast response is required. In addition, many sentences are
grammatically correct, but are not commonly used in spoken (oral) language.

4. Theory of natural language absorption (Acquisition Theory)

According to Krashen (1983), the language learning process consists of 2 ways, namely,
acquisition and learning.

Acquisition is a natural language learning process from direct experience in communicating

with the language. While learning is the process of learning a language through understanding
the elements of language which are then used to communicate.

According to Krashen, to be able to speak English, one does not need to study formally.
Enough with direct experience of communicating with the language, one can master it. For
example a small child who naturally can speak according to his mother tongue.

Weaknesses of this method:

The Krashen method is only suitable for small children, & difficult for adults.
This acquisition takes a long time, which is generally not owned by adults. Imagine if to learn
our English

have to live in a country that uses English, of course it takes a long time and costs a lot,
very few people can maintain their memorization for a long time.

5. Cognitive Theory (Cognitive Theory)

According to Chomsky, in learning language, humans are created with cognitive
abilities, namely processing the input received and creating new sentences that are not
limited in number. This theory underlies the emergence of a new approach in English,
namely the emphasis on grammar (Grammar).

Weaknesses of this method:

With this grammar approach, it is difficult for someone to use spoken English fluently,
because in spoken language a fast response is required. In addition, many sentences are
grammatically correct, but are not commonly used in spoken (oral) language.

6. Theory of natural language absorption (AcquisitionTheory)

According to Krashen (1983), the language learning process consists of 2 ways, namely, acquisition and
learning.

Acquisition is a natural language learning process from direct experience in communicating with the language.
While learning is the process of learning a language through understanding the elements of language which are
then used to communicate. According to Krashen, to be able to speak English, a person does not need to study
formally. Enough with direct experience of communicating with the language, one can master it. For example a
small child who naturally can speak according to his mother tongue.

Weaknesses of this method:

which is generally not owned by adults. Imagine if to learn English we have to live in a country that uses English,
of course it takes a long time and costs a lot

C. EASY METHOD OF SPEAKING ENGLISH

To facilitate our speaking skills. Below this
will be explained several ways / methods that are quite useful for us to try. Among them are

1. Expand Vocabulary (vocabulary)

Before we master English communication and grammar, we must have a vocabulary
that is used every day in conversation. Here we know and master a little vocabulary to help
facilitate us. It will be difficult if we do not have the slightest basis of basic vocabulary that is
commonly used in everyday life.

2. Reading aloud
By reading English aloud, not only to develop pronunciation skills, but also
to improve listening skills, grammar and vocabulary as well. Learn English by reading.

3. Know Simple English Grammar

Grammar or grammar in English may be difficult for us to master perfectly. But we
don't really have to worry about studying English grammar or grammar in more detail. The
important thing is that we have a basic understanding of English grammar, it becomes our
capital to develop English language skills at a higher level

higher. Examples of simple grammar that we can learn are

regarding nouns, verbs, to be, adjectives, adverbs, personal pronouns, simple tenses, such as
simple present tense, continuous tense, past tense future tense and so on. By knowing a little
about basic grammar, it is sufficient capital for us to develop further skills.

4. Reading English Writing

What is meant by reading here is that we like books, written story books, short
stories, novels, comics, magazines, newspapers, and others in English. The habit of reading
English text/writing/reading will make you

we are familiar and we can understand and enjoy the story/content/text message earlier.
In addition, we can find new vocabs so that our English vocabulary will increase.
Reading should not be forced but our own awareness and we enjoy it.

5. English Conversation
Language will be meaningless if it is not practiced, if it is not applied in our daily
conversation. Language will develop quickly if we use it. In conversation with other
people can help us to be confident, can help us to learn from mistakes, help us learn from
others. Please start conversing and communicating in English to friends who you think are
capable and quite capable. It's okay maybe our English is bad but believe me that with us
getting used to English we will be able to develop. In addition to friends, we can also try to
communicate with our teachers, and if we have an association or English club that is very
helpful. Take advantage when you travel and travel in places where there are foreign
tourists, so invite them to communicate with us in a polite way of course. The point is
language will quickly hit and develop when we get used to using it.

CHAPTER III
CLOSING

3.1 Conclusion
Machine Translated by Google

From the discussion in this paper, the author's conclusions are as follows:

a. There needs to be an effective theory and approach to be applied in learning English. There
are three theories, namely behavioral theory, cognitive theory, and natural language absorption
theory
b. It turns out that there are various ways to be able to learn how to learn English
including increasing vocabulary, reading aloud, knowing simple English grammar, reading
English writing, having conversations in English, listening to English songs, watching
English films, and happy with English.

3.2 Suggestions

From the discussion in this paper, my suggestion or opinion from the paper is
really very good if it is practiced in our English learning, both from the theory that has
been explained. For example, what has been explained from behavioral theory that the
teacher/ lecturer when speaking English, students/students must repeat the word, of
course this is very useful for us in learning English as well as in other theories and in
this English speaking method as well. very useful for us both from increasing
vocabulary, reading aloud, recognizing simple English grammar and so on.
