TYPES OF WHAT OBSERVATION/INFORMATION DID I GET? OR WHAT ANSWERS DO I GET

CURRICULUM FROM MY INTERVIEW?
Recommended Corona A. Cabanilla National High School is a public school under the regulation of
Department of Education. All that are implemented in the school are from the policies and
guidelines of DepEd.
My co-teacher, Sir Val Anthony Intong, also followed what the DepEd recommended for
his learners or even for himself as well especially on his developmental and professional
growth.
And I have really observed in the class that Sir Val really followed the guidelines and
policies of DepEd. He entered the class on time, taught the learners within 1 hour, and
also used materials given by the Deped.
Written According to Sir Val, before going to class, he plan his lesson/s first. He made sure that all
his activities were in line to the MELCS or competencies given by the DepEd, and aside
from that he also used the recent module.
Taught As I have observed, Sir Val hit his target activity. He let me see his lesson plan for that
particular period. He is good a Science teacher. His grade 7 students were really attentive
and participative.
Supported “As a science teacher, it is really much better if the school has a lot to offer in the class just
 like laboratory apparatuses and models,-Sir Val”.
Corona A. Cabanilla National High School (CACNHS) is a newly established school.
There are only 4 makeshift classrooms (wherein if there is a commotion going on, the
other side of the classroom could hear it easily) and 1 faculty room. And aside from that,
there are only 178 enrollees. These are the reason why we, CACNHS Teachers, are very
challenged to strive harder in teaching for us to captivate more students in going back to
school and most especially to give opportunities to our learners that there is really hope
and a brighter future in Education. CACNHS is located in Barangay Nueva Villa, Don
Marcelino, Davao Occidental, a 20 minute drive from Kinanga Poblacion, with no access
in the internet connectivity. There are only peso-wifi available but just recently. And I
could really say that aside from our 1 big TV, modules, print-outs and books, there are no
other supported materials.
Assessed As a teacher, this is the most important task for us. In the assessment part, we could really
weigh if the students have really understood the lesson or not. In my observation, after
the discussion of Sir Val, he imposed quiz, and got good results from his learners.
Our School Head, Mrs. Nora C. Bueno, really emphasized to us how important is the
assessment. That is why, all of us, teachers, imposed quiz/activities every after our lesson.
Learned According to Sir Val, he used variety of activities inside the class for him to meet if not all
but most of the students needs. By this, he can ensure the learning of every student,
especially in our case in the School that we only have heterogenous group for rooms are
lacking.
Hidden In my observation, Sir Val also instilled good values to his students. In his Grade 7 class,
of course these kind of students are still like pupils in behavior so there were some that
 did not listen attentively, and with that, there he inserted good values.

 Is it necessary for teachers to learn about school Curriculum? Why?

For me, Yes it is necessary for teachers to learn about school curriculum because as a teacher, being the heart
of the educational system, I should really make sure that what I am teaching to my students is what they
need to learn. It takes two tango. Without the teachers, there will be no implementers of the curriculum, and
also without the school curriculum, there will be no guide for the teachers so they could mislead the learners
in their learning. This is how important the school curriculum is to the teachers, so that is why teachers must
be updated always with the curriculum to meet the recent needs of the learners and the community for
teachers need to mold/create individual that would help the society to progress.
