What are the challenges do you observed being encountered by PE teachers in teaching PE
based on K-12 curriculum?

In today’s generation, PE often treated as the least important subject versus the most
important subject. I know that we should excel in academic subjects but on the other hand,
exercise helps students to do better in academic subjects. For me, it is the only subject in school
that promotes physical, social, and emotional health, it helps children learn better and
cultivates the character that they need to be productive adults.

Physical Education is undervalued, so the fund that is allocated to the subject is not
enough to buy equipment and material that is needed to teach in physical education. Also
teachers who mistreated the subject, they handle the subject because it is said to be easy and
manageable so teachers often teach the subject without the core knowledge and skills.

Lastly, since pandemic ruined the educational system in the Philippines, the subject that
is most affected is physical education, teachers find it difficult to teach the subject in E-learning,
since PE is mainly focused on the cognitive development through psychomotor development of
the student.
