With the fast pace of modern life, more and more people are

turning towards fast food for their main meals. Do you think
the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
The excessive consumption of fast food instead of the conventional one
is becoming a universal habit by virtue of people’s busy schedules
stemming from the rapid modernization of society. This shift in human’s
eating norms has engendered deleterious effects that, in my opinion,
prevail over its benefits.
To begin with, I concede that replacing ordinary meals with junk food
brings about a salient merit regarding time. Cooking indubitably requires
a colossal amount of time and effort while fast food, as it is called, is an
already-prepared meal that enables one to accelerate his life by sparing
his me-time for other tasks. Besides, fast food also sometimes gives
eaters appetite. It is vital that one experience a new cuisine with a view
to trying out exotic taste and avoiding the boredom of repeating a meal
constantly.
Conversely, the upsurge of junk food consumption has engendered
detrimental repercussions, which can be attributed to one predominant
rationale. Fast food has been proven to jeopardize one’s health. It is
widely acknowledged that fast food contains a high proportion of
detrimental ingredients such as salt and sugar. According to doctors and
dietitians, an abundant intake of these elements is one of the chief
culprits behind obesity and other health problems including diabetes and
high cholesterol levels. Furthermore, fast food contains very little
nutrients which means that a persistent menu of junks might lead to
nutritional deficiency.
To summarize, the innovative ever-increasing fascination for fast food
thanks to the hasty pace of current life can assist one to get rid of time-
consuming process of cooking. Yet, this has been overshadowed by its
demerit concerning health problems and should be alleviated.
