PRE-LESSON (10 MINUTES): Communication

1. Teacher greets students.


2. Teacher revises My Hero Poem with students.

Expected Question:
● Do you still remember the story behind the My Hero poem?

Expected Answer:
● Yes.

3. If students cannot remember, the teacher will read and explain the poem
again.
4. Teacher introduces today’s lesson to the class.
5. Teacher states the objective of the lesson.

6. Teacher divides students into 6 groups of five. HOTS
7. Teacher prepares a music box that contains a few pictures that portray every
theme in the poem. (Attachment 1)
8. Each group will get random pictures and they need to write a hashtag for
the theme to describe the pictures.
9. Each group also gets clues with the first letter of the theme in the pictures
given.

Suggested Instruction:
● Look at the pictures. Please identify the theme in My Hero poem
based on the pictures and give a reason for your answer. You have 15
minutes to finish the task.

Expected Answer:
● Bravery = The child’s father is brave. For example, he is not afraid
of the dark and day, skeletons, ghosts, vampires, wolf-man or
frankenstein.
● Love = The child is close with his/her father. He/She gets to observe
his/her father and learn about all the things that he is not afraid of
as well as the thing that he is afraid of (spider)
● Respect = The child still shows respect to his/her father even after
knowing that his/her father cannot get rid of a spider.

10. Teacher picks groups randomly and asks them to give their answer.
