Tree planting is one of our major requirements in NSTP 2 which I think is really environmental

and helpful amidst our situation that face to face classes is not yet allowed. This activity undeniably
provides multitude of benefits. It regulates temperature extremes and improve soil and water
conservation which I think needed in our community. We are task to plant different fruit bearing trees
and take good care of it until 3 months to actually see that the tree we plant will grow and will be in
good condition.

On the very first day, I planted 3 fruit bearing trees (Cocoa and Durian) last February 27, 2022 at
exactly 9:20 in the morning. I have no choice but to plant two grafted cocoa trees since the fruit bearing
trees that time was limited and these two mentioned fruits are only the available trees to plant. I
planted it around the vicinity of our barangay hall, particularly at the back of the covered court. After
that, I visited the newly plant trees approximately two times a week since it always rains here and I did
make sure that the trees were out of any harm by putting wheels around it and by putting fertilizers.

On the first week, there are small changes on the plants. It grows some leaves and the durian
got a little taller, exactly 26 cm and the cocoa on the other hand only got changes by addition of some
leaves since the two cocoa trees were just grafted. The changes in the first week makes me strive more
to take good care of the trees. Fortunately, from just 23 cm tall on the very first day, the durian got taller
in 8 cm in three weeks in total of 31 cm.

Taking good care of the planted trees is not easy. You worry a lot and some unfortunate
instances may occur if you skip a visit. This activity made me think that the result is just by-product of
what your choices in the present. You do not have to always think about the result, you have to focus on
what the best thing to do in the present. Just for like this activity, you have to take good care of the
planted trees and not just plant trees in the very first day and just wish for it to grow in 3 months in
good condition without prior action for it to happen.
