Physical & Chemical Changes
PHYSICAL CHANGE
Ripping a piece of paper with hands or scissors will not change the structure of the paper, it
only had a physical change.
Changing the shape of a can is a physical change too because it can still be returned to its
original shape.
This is just like ice cream when you melt it you can freeze it back
to its original shape. It becomes liquid because of its exposure to warm temperature.
Science
Because the wood did not react to anything when cut, it is an example
of physical change. The only thing that changed is its size and shape.
Same thing with this pencil, when you break it into two, it is
still a pencil so it is also a physical change.
When ice drops are taken out of the freezer, they melt. You can freeze it back to its original
shape. No chemical reaction so it is physical change.
Science
When you mold clay it is still clay. It will only have different shapes and forms but it can be
returned to its original shape.
CHEMICAL CHANGE
Making cheese is a chemical change because it is reacting to other materials and combining with
materials to make new substances.
The banana flesh when exposed to air changes its color and texture. This will eventually gets rotten.
With the use of heat, all the ingredients mixed together for the
the cake is baked into a new form.
When a steak gets cooked, the protein molecules change its shape as
it reacts to heat
Science
Soured milk is produced by the acidification of milk. The acid causes the milk to thicken and inhibit the
growth of bacteria .
