Topic: Code of Ethics for Prefessional Teachers

I. Introduction
Teaching is a noble profession that incorporates so
much duty and responsibility closer to their students. Teachers do not most
effective train, impart understanding but encourage and motivate
students for lifestyles and take vital steps in existence. They maintain running to
enhance the self-assurance of students and direct them in the right route.
Teacher Anna a Junior high school teacher loves to spend her free time in
creating content on tiktok and other social media accounts which includes doing
sexy dances that are trend nowadays. As the trend goes by, these dances
became more and more intense which she is doing as well. In regards to this
matter, her students always praise her every time she posts videos. One time her
principal sees one of her videos and called her attention to talk about this matter.
Social media is a nice way of interacting among people in which they create,
share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and
networks. The utmost importance of social media is that it helps in staying in
touch with our loved ones and to our students. You get to know what are your
friends or family and students doing. Even without meeting up too often, social
media helps in creating and sustaining that emotional bond.
Along with the advantages social media also has several disadvantages.
Social media can be a distraction for some students and teachers. Essentially,
social media has changed the way we are able to communicate and behave, not
only in groups and society but with each other.
It’s important that teachers learn the nuances of ethical social media use.
However, there are varying perspectives regarding how social media should and
shouldn’t be used by teachers. Teachers who are confident and competent on
social media serve as a positive role models for students. Some experts say that
teachers should consider creating separate accounts for personal and
professional use. This helps prevent ethical problems that might arise, and it
helps students maintain a professional view of their educators.
As educators in the digital age, teachers bear some responsibility to show
students how to use social media correctly. In addition to setting a positive
example, teachers can also take strides to teach students about personal and
professional safety on the internet.
Whatever the things we do in our lives, especially in this digital age. We
should always remember a professional code of ethics is designed to ensure
employees are behaving in a manner that is socially acceptable and respectful of
one another. Every teacher shall uphold the highest possible standards of quality
education, shall make the best preparations for the career of teaching, and shall
be at his best at all times and in the practice of his profession.
II. Insights

Social media is also an important thing especially in this digital age,

but learning how to spend our time wisely on social media is crucial to
each of us. Getting information about something is very easy if you get
it from social media since it is very accessible but what is challenging is
how intense we are filtering the information we get from social media
since social media is open to everyone which makes much of the
information unreliable.

Teachers must maintain the idea that teaching is the noblest

profession since that idea seems to forgotten for everyone tends to
exercise freedom of expression everywhere even if expressing it is
somewhat disturbing or unethical.

III. Recommendations

1. Intensify the sense of professionalism amongst teachers.

2. Remember that teachers must be a model to society.

Topic: Termination of Employment

I. Introduction

As an employee, we are bounded with several rights as we continue with our

employment. One of these is the right to security of tenure, which means that a
regular employee shall remain employed unless his or her services are
terminated for just or authorized cause and after the observance of procedure
due process of the department of labor and employment. This study will examine
the case of teacher Jessa a Math teacher in Junior high school and the issue of
her termination.
Teacher Jessa a Math teacher in the Junior high school who is terminated
from her current job due to consistent late submissions of reports for almost 3
years. According to teacher Jessa, she doesn’t have the inspiration to complete
the reports/paper works due to her not-so-good relationship with her co-
workers/principal. According to her co-worker, she has this kind of attitude that is
not easy going, and she always stands for herself, she doesn’t follow orders
without examining or if it is included in her job description which makes her not
easy to manipulate from her heads. On the first day of school, teacher Jessa is
come to work with enthusiasm without knowing she doesn’t have a job anymore.
In this case, she was terminated the day she was informed that she is not hired
anymore.
Termination of employment is that time when the employment relationship
ends. There are two sorts of occupation terminations. Termination can be
voluntary or it can likewise be involuntary. As an employee, it's important to know
the things you do well at work so you can understand the specific ways you
contribute to your team, department and organization. Knowing what you do well
also helps you recognize areas for improvement.
There are two types of employment termination first is termination by
employer who are incompetence, including lack of productivity or poor quality of
work. Insubordination and related issues such as dishonesty or breaking
company rules. Attendance issues, such as frequent absences or chronic
tardiness. Theft or other criminal behavior including revealing trade secrets and
the second is voluntary resignation or termination by employee. Employers can
dismiss an employee based on just and authorized causes.
Voluntary resignation is defined as a voluntary act committed by employees
who knowingly dissociate themselves from their employment for personal
reasons. It does not cover instances where employees are forced to resign with
the use of threats, intimidation, coercion, manipulation, or where dismissal is
imposed as a penalty for an offense. Forced or coerced resignation is illegal and
considered “constructive” dismissal – a dismissal in disguise.
II. Insights

As an employee we must never forget that we have duties and responsibilities,

to do our work carefully and seriously (In some cases, they could be fired or
disciplined if they're often late for work, or if they're absent too often or for no
good reason. By understanding their duties, they can perform their assigned
tasks efficiently. All members of the team should fulfill their responsibilities to the
best of their abilities for teamwork to be effective.
It also the employer's duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their
employees and other people who might be affected by their work activities.
Employers must do whatever is reasonably practicable to achieve this.

III. Recommendations

1. The employee must have a good relationship with the employer/co-

worker.
2. The employee must adhere to their duties and responsibilities.
3. Employees are adequately compensated, they must feel motivated
to come to work.

Topic: The Philippine Flag and other Heraldic code

I. Introduction

Philipppine flag is one of the most important symbols for any country. All
nations show keenness in honoring their flag, position it at the most prominent
places and prevent it from being abused or misused. Republic Act No. 8491
otherwise known as the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines states that
reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded the flag, the anthem, and
other national symbols which embody the national ideals and which express
the principles of sovereignty and national solidarity. This paper will examine
the violation made by a Filipino citizen against the law as stated in the R.A
8491.
Teacher Joan a high school teacher was bothered by the old Philippine
flag that we used in our school during flag ceremonies since the flag has
already tom so she asked her students to take out the old ripped flag and
replaced it with the new one. Everything was fine until she asked her student
to throw away the old flag in the trash bin. It became a problem when one of
her co-teacher found it, and known that teacher Joan was the one who throw
it away. She confronted teacher Joan regarding the issue and teacher Joan
asked her co-teacher where she went wrong.
It is the emblem of our nationhood, of what we have been, of what we are,
and of what we hope to be. In our flag are crystallized our common
aspirations as Filipinos and our collective vision for our country's future. As
the symbol of our country, our flag should be accorded due respect and
honor. It is the symbol of our national pride. Over the last five decades,
several people including members of armed forces have ungrudgingly laid
down their lives to keep the tricolour flying in its full glory. There is universal
affection and respect for, and loyalty to, the National Flag.
The law provides that reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded
to the flag, the anthem and other national symbols. In Section 14, it is stated
that a flag made worn-out through normal wear-and-tear shall not be thrown
away and instead shall be solemnly burned to avoid misuse or desecration.
We must not to mutilate, deface, trample on, cast contempt, or commit any act
or commission casting dishonor or ridicule upon the National Flag or over its
surface; To dip the National flag to any person or object by way of compliment
or salute; To use the National Flag.

II. Insights

Giving respect to the national flag, the Philippine flag is one of the value that
our beloved teachers taught us. “It’s a symbol of who we are, of what happened
in the past, and what it represents for us,” she said in a mix of Filipino and
English. So, these symbolizes that giving importance to our flag is a must.
Everyone should respect, and give value to our Philippine flag in an appropriate
ways. Our great heroes fought much to achieve the freedom that we should have
as a Filipino people. But some individuals neglect, disrespecting and ignoring on
how we should respect our Philippine flag.

However, there are some citizen show their respect by their salute the flag
whenever it is paraded, when the Pledge of Allegiance is said, or when the
National Anthem is played. Those not in uniform should salute the flag by
standing at attention, tall and straight, with the left arm at the side, and placing
the right hand over the heart.

III. Recommendation

1. Learning and following the laws are very important

2. As the symbol of our country, our flag should be accorded due
respect and honor.

Topic: Magna Carta for public school teachers

I. Introduction

As such Republic Act No. 4670 otherwise known as “The Magna Carta for

Public School Teachers” was passed into law in view of providing professional
rights and safeguards to our public school teachers in consideration of the
exigency and level of difficulty of the exercise of their profession. This paper will
examine the violation made by a teacher against the law as stated in the R.A

Teacher Rhea is a young and personable teacher in a school in a coastal
area. She teaches Science to Grade 5 students who have difficulty reading the
Science textbook in English and comprehending the basic concepts. To solve
this problem, Rhea decided to hold her class by the shore on Saturday. Her class
enjoyed the change and were very participative since the class was conducted in
the dialect and she didn’t do the proper way to ask permission to the authority.
Using the local language, it is also should be aligned with the school’s policy
on using mediums of teaching. Further consultations with the matter shall
increase the open communication of both parties that will be beneficial for the

Topic: The labor Code of the Philippines

I. Introduction

The Labor Code of the Philippines stands as the law governing employment
practices and labor relations in the Philippines. It was enacted on Labor day of
1974 by President Ferdinand Marcos, in the exercise of his then extant legislative
powers. It prescribes the rules for hiring and termination of private employees;
the conditions of work including maximum work hours and overtime; employee
benefits such as holiday pay, thirteenth month pay and retirement pay; and the
guidelines in the organization and membership in labor unions as well as in
collective bargaining. This paper will examine a teacher who still working even he
is suffering from a disease.
Teacher Jerry a high school teacher for 13 years, has been active for the past
few years, but he found out that he has tuberculosis which be cured within 6
months, he didn’t inform this matter to his principal, he still continued working.
His co-teacher knew he had an illness because his actions had changed in the
past few days. His principal called him to talk about his situation.
Under Article 284 of the Labor Code, among the grounds for termination of
employment are when an employee is found to be suffering from any disease
and whose continued employment is prohibited by law or is prejudicial to his
health as well as the health of his co-employees. If the employee has been found
to be suffering from any disease and whose continued employment is prohibited
by law or is prejudicial to his health as well as to the health of his co-employees,
and a competent public health authority has certified that the disease is incurable
within a period of six months even with proper medical treatment (Article 299,
Labor Code).
Meanwhile, termination due to disease is where an employee has been found
to be suffering from any disease and whose continued employment is prohibited
by law or is prejudicial to his health as well as to the health of his co-employees,
and a competent public health authority has certified that the disease is incurable
within a period of six months even with proper medical treatment (Article 299,
Labor Code).

II. Insights

Being a teacher can be a huge challenge, especially if we suffering from

different illness/disease. But we are also human too, we get sick. We should
always remember that whatever we suffer right now, we should inform our
principal or co-workers. An employee who has been found to be suffering from
any disease and whose continued employment is prohibited by law or is
prejudicial to his health as well as to the health of his co-employees: Provided,
That he is paid separation pay equivalent to at least one (1) month salary or to
one-half (1/2) month salary for every year of service, whichever is greater, a
fraction of at least six (6) months being considered as one (1) whole year.

III. Recommendations

1. Do not force yourself/employee to work especially those who suffers from

illness/disease.
2. Inform always your employer/principal about your condition
