Direction: Read the following statements. Answer briefly but substantially.

1. Explain school policies and procedures that foster harmonious relationships within the school and
school community. 10pts

Creating a relationship between the school and the community, engaging other organizations to do
some work or hob for community. In order to foster a healthy relationship we need to have cooperation
between school and community.

2. Identify " best practices " in the implementation. 5pts

First know what practice do you want to implement. Second, once you determine what practice you
want to begin implementing within your organization, be sure that you are clearly sharing it with key
personnel in a clear and concise manner. Explain clearly why the best practices matter and how it will
benefit them, the organization, and your customers. Third, be sure to engage everyone make sure that
everyone understands what you are implementing, that they know their role, and that they have bought
in. Once again, be open to feedback and follow up with everyone.

3. Cite atleast five (5) roles of teachers as leaders and school heads as instructional leaders. 10pts

Role of Teachers as A leader

1. Resource

One of the top roles a teacher must fill is that of a resource specialists. There will be many people who
will come to the teacher seeking information. Even if the person is only seeking a source of information,
the teacher is the one who must know how to find what the student is looking for.

2. Support

Students are the ones who need support when learning a new skill or piece of information. A teacher
must act as the support person when the student needs this help.

3. Mentor

One of the biggest roles a teacher may have is that of a mentor. Students look up to teachers and may
pattern their own behavior and work ethic to match the instructor.

4. Helping hand
A leader in a school is a person who takes on extra tasks such as leading the PTA meetings and even
helping set up a gym for a big event. Teachers who are active in the school will often have more jobs
than just the one they were hired to perform.

5. Learner

One last important role a teacher must fill is that of a learner. Anyone who has been involved in a
profession long enough knows that there is always something new to learn.

School Heads as Instructional Leader

1. Shaping a vision of academic success for all students

Although they say it in different ways, researchers who have examined education leadership agree that
effective principals are responsible for establishing a schoolwide vision of commitment to high standards
and the success of all students.

2.Creating a climate hospitable to education

Effective school Heads ensure that their schools allow both adults and children to put learning at the
center of their daily activities. Such "a healthy school environment," as Vanderbilt researchers call it, is
characterized by basics like safety and orderliness, as well as less tangible qualities such as a
"supportive, responsive" attitude toward the children and a sense by teachers that they are part of a
community of professionals focused on good instruction.

3. Cultivating leadership in others

A broad and longstanding consensus in leadership theory holds that leaders in all walks of life and all
kinds of organizations, public and private, need to depend on others to accomplish the group's purpose
and need to encourage the development of leadership across the organization.

4. Improving instruction

Effective school heads work relentlessly to improve achievement by focusing on the quality of
instruction.

5. Managing people, data and processes

To get the job done, effective leaders need to make good use of the resources at hand. In other words,
they have to be good managers.
