PROPOSED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

(The proposed solid waste management plan shall be the alternative approach upon closure of disposal facility)

Biodegradable Waste

[ /] Centralized composting

[ / ] Barangay composting

10 | P a g e
[ ] Cluster (barangay) composting

[ / ] Household composting

Please indicate target barangays of the above approach for bio-waste

management:

Biodegradable Waste Management:

All four (4) barangays (Ducligan, Labaan, Lamao(Poblacion) and

Lingey will practice the mandatory backyard composting and animal
feeding for all biodegradable waste generated from household in order to
ensure 100% of bio-waste diversion. The LGU will no longer collected
mixed waste with biodegradable or solely biodegradable waste at every
households and all households have enough space for backyard
composting.

Recyclable Waste

Please discuss briefly the method of handling and management (attach

extra sheets for additional information]:

Recyclable Waste Management:

All recyclables generated from household and non-household will

be sold to ambulant buyer at present, the plan is to tie-up with the junkshop
through Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to cater recyclables available
within the municipality at weekly basis.

These recyclables are: PET(Polyethylene Terepthalates), Cartons and

papers, Metals (aluminum, tin can, scrap iron, copper), Bottles and broken
plastics from kitchen wares, worn-out toys and defective bulky waste made
of plastics.

Residual Waste

[ ] Sanitary landfilling

Estimated volume to be disposed/ schedule of disposal

Please discuss briefly the operation of disposal (attach extra sheets

for additional information):

11 | P a g e
[ / ] Residual waste processing technology

Estimated volume to process daily:

Please briefly discuss technology to adopt

Residual Waste Management:

Residual waste is collected and contained in sacks to be stored at

the Residual Containment Area (RCA). Waste such as laminates,
composites, thin film and single use plastics, food grade packaging,
biscuits and candy wrapper and other residuals are properly filed inside the
facility and reserve for future processing as components in hollow block
making, pavement blocks and wall claddings.

Special Waste (I.e., household hazardous waste, hospital waste)

Please discuss briefly the method of handling and management (attach

extra sheets for additional information)

Special Waste Management:

Special waste from household such as busted bulbs, used batteries

and aerosol container with chemicals are stored temporarily in wooden
pallet at the portion of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) before the final
disposal either for treatment or placed in septic vault.
