Narrate your everyday experiences in globalization, in your
conclusion, is it good or bad?
Personally, globalization is the connection of different parts of the world. It
increases our standards of living, but not all of its effects are positive for everyone. As for my everyday experiences with Globalization, I am one of the million consumers that benefit from it too. From the moment I woke up I immediately felt the effect of Globalization, this bed I lay on and this blanket and pillow could be among the products of globalization. The alarm clock that rings to wake me up, the appliances at home that makes me comfortable, my gadgets such as cellphones and laptops that I use for studying and entertainment, things that I wear, and the foods that I eat could be among the products of globalization. On top of that, when leaving home, especially when going far away, I have to take public transport, the car can be a product of globalization, the fuel, and so on. Moreover, because of Globalization, I experienced buying goods such as shoes, clothes, bags, and other necessary things at a lower price. Also, I have access to a wider variety of products wherein I can freely choose what I want and need, and most importantly, because of this connection of sharing information, economic context, cultures, and way of living from neighboring countries, I improved my health by enabling a more varied and healthier diet. At the same time, through Globalization, innovations in information technology enable immediate communication whereas saying “hello” or catching up with my friends and families abroad is not a problem anymore, now, I can contact my loved ones anytime, anywhere. In conclusion, like what I’ve said in the first part, not all of its effects are positive for everyone – they can be good or bad. Because we already knew that in Globalization, different products may be made in different regions of the world and may be sold in different countries wherein the products of the country in which one resides will be disregarded, for the reason that the majority of the people preferred, desire, and are well-liked to follow a trend by using the work of others. Additionally, as technology becomes increasingly globalized, local cultures are destroyed and the world becomes more homogeneous in terms of living. Now that different civilizations may engage with one another, the distinctiveness of each country is losing ground. Especially as Filipinos, we have a variety of cultures and traditions, but as globalization has advanced, we have increasingly adopted other cultures' ways of living.
