Discuss with your friends the following points:
1.what are captions?
Answer: Caption is a text that appears bellow an image, document,
graphic, photograph, or table. Caption can be brief description, heading,
or title that identify or introduce a document, graphic, photograph, table,
or picture. Caption is a short description that accompanies the
illustration. Caption in the form of additional information usually the
only consists of a few words or sentences.
2. What is the importance of captions?
Answer: The importance of captions is to add information which
available in the pictures or photos. The purpose of writing a caption is to
help the reader understand information that may not be in the text.
Caption serves to provide basic information about an object or image. an
object or image does have a purpose of its own but it is not very clear.
Therefore, the importance of writing captions is to explain information
about the image or object and its meaning, so that there is no
misinterpretation. Displaying an image without information will make it
difficult for readers to understand what it means.

3. Why do people use caption?


Answer: People use caption because it can help readers or viewers to
understand more information that might not be in photos or videos. In
addition, one of the social functions of someone writing a caption is to
provide basic information about an object. Even though it's short,
writing a caption can't be arbitrary. It takes language that is interesting
but still informative so that what is in the picture can be conveyed
properly.
Task 1:Observe the pictures in pairs

Obama is an inspiration to many. there are many motivations that can be


pinned from an Obama. The motivations he expresses are sometimes not
funny. So that the picture of his face is often used as a joke because of
his funny expressions and behavior.
