INTRODUCTION
The information you are about to receive from this reading of you Odu, which
was revealed to during Itenifa (Ifa initiation) is the workings of the dynamic
forces within you, which were formed by your emanation and at the point of your
existence on this terrestrial plane. Also it bothers on the cosmic forces that are
spiritual and beyond your control.
The dynamic forces are your potentials, natural qualities and strength of your
character to be controlled in order to strengthen your public image and boost
your popularity. Whereas the cosmic forces or components are from Ayanmo,
Akunleyan and Akunlegba. These three components are loosely described as
Destiny or Heavenly gift/virtues.
The Ayanmo is interplay to forces, which are usually divine, and in consonant
with the inventive precepts of Olodumare (The Almighty God of creation).
Ayanmo of your life cannot be changed. Once you are created with it, it remains
so till the expiration of your life on this planet earth. Ayanmo includes sex of an
individual, race, family, parent, growth, and other natural rules of which an
individual must tow and obey.
Akunleyan are the virtues and values chosen in heaven consequent upon your
actions/activities in your previous evolution or existence. They are actually things
chosen by you and most of the time form your likes and dislikes or taboo.
Akunlegba are the gifts or virtues added by various Irunmole at the presence of
Onibode (celestial sentinel) in heaven or just before you emanate into the world.
They are like spices, additives, preservatives, and vehicles of propagation of
Ayanmo and Akunleyan or things that complement the Akunleyan in order to
fulfill your destiny on earth.
Adayeba: These are the environmental factors on earth which make Akunleyan
and Akunlegba become achievable and or nurtured to full growth and fulfillment.
These factors are usually not man-made but sometimes are subjected to the
whims and caprices of man in some cases.
The reading of your Odu helps to determine or reveal your purpose in life vis-à-
vis your talent, limitations, assets, shortcomings, possibilities and probabilities.
These Ayanmo, Akunleyan and Akunlegba combine with Adayeba to determine
the totality of your existence. You should use the appropriate ebo (sacrifice)
which has same polarity and magnetism to your Odu in order to discover love,
fortune health, hope, happiness, fulfillment in life and longevity.

You should also avoid such things, which may hinder your talents, or discoveries
by observing your taboos as explained to you during your Itenifa (Ifa initiation).
Pre-initiation Divination (Àdáwọgbódù)

Pre-initiation divination (Adawogbodu) is usually done before a would-be initiate


enters the Ifa grove. The essence of this divination is to reveal the present
situation of things about the person. It states further and justifies the need or
necessity for the initiation. Sometimes, a clue or hint is revealed about any
unforeseen problems that may arise in the course/process of initiation.
Sometimes too it gives a guide or direction to be followed or observed during the
initiation.
The appropriate ebo (sacrifice) is done immediately, so that a hitch free initiation
is achieved, and to correct or amend any sad or ugly occurrences that might
have beset the would-be initiate.
Post Initiation Divination (Ìta)
Ita, in simple translation means the post initiation divination usually done on the
third day of Itenifa (Ifa Initiation). The significance of Ita is to reveal the situation
of things surrounding the initiate which may likely happen in the near future. It
acts as a support to the Odu revealed at initiation. Through this divination, a
babalawo is told by Ifa if all the rituals and rites of initiation had been divinely
endorsed by the Irunmole and ultimately by God.
Ita, also re-emphasises and re-validates certain messages that are sacrosanct in
the main Odu reveal at initation.
Sacrifices (ebo) are made immediately in order to engender good tidings and
possibly prevent any unhealthy occurrence that may arise in the near future.
Brief History
Obara-Ose is a combination Odu comprising one leg of …….. Meji on the
right and one leg of …….. Meji on the left. The combinations are mixed.
This mixture does not dilute its potency or make them less efficacious. In
fact, some mixed Odus have been known to display a potency more than
some major Odu in some aspects of life, living and knowledge of things
animate and in-animate. ……… occupies …..th position in the ranking of all
256 Odus. The geometric imprints combine to form templates that might
attract and enforce the presence of extra-terrestrial forces or Irunmole
during Ifa consultation, ebo riru (offering of sacrifice), Akosedaye, Itenifa,
or any other time when incantation or Ifa chants become necessary in
order to potentiate the process. Ifa symbols are inscribed in twos in order
to commensurate with the binary language of Ifa. ……….. is the omo iya of
…………………. That is to say that they share some degree of affinity in
Ifa sense.

1. Ifa says that a lot of goodies await you. You are going to be called
upon to receive an offer which will eventually turn out to be a fortune
for you. Ifa says that even though this offer looks a bit degrading
initially, it will end up in abundant ire for you. Ifa then warns you not
to reject the summon or offer in order not to miss out the ire therein.
However, you are advised to offer ebo with one ram, one she-goat, 16
pumpkins and money. The she-goat will be used to feed Ifa. On this,
Ifa says:

Translation
Obara Seke (name of Awo)
Cast Ifa for Opeere
When going on spiritual mission to the home of Onidoko
Someone’s loss is another person’s gain
This was the message of Ifa to Orunmila
When lamenting for want of free gift
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
It was only Orunmila that was blessed with Okun beads and
Ide (brass ornaments)

In this Odu, Ifa explains that Orunmila was offered pumpkins when he was
lamenting his inability to achieve greatness like his contemporaries. He
had earlier been advised not to reject any gift, no matter how small it might
be. He complied. These pumpkins were earlier given to the dressmaker of
Onidoko. He considered them too belittling for his status and he handed
them over to Orunmila.
When Orunmila got home, broke one of the pumpkins for consumption
only to find that it was loaded with precious ornaments. He broke the six
pumpkins and they were all filled with beads, gold, silver, diamonds, etc.
That was how the loss of the dressmaker became the gain of Orunmila

2. Ifa says that there is the need for you to offer ebo against the
heavenly forces that may want to change your fortunes to
misfortunes. Ifa says that you have the potential to become a very
successful person but the ebo becomes necessary so that this
success does not go into ruins while you are still alive. The ebo
materials include 2 rams, 2 she-goats, 2 he-goats, eha ode (the
hunters’ garment), 1 dog, 20 yams, 1 machete, 1 knife and money.
One of the rams will be offered to Sango, 1 he-goat to Esu, one she-
goat to Ifa, while the dog will be offered to Ogun. There and then,
Ipese will be offered Obaluwaye and the Iyamis.
On these, Ifa says:
Obara –Ose kii se lori Elomiran
Ori eni to ba ndara nii see le
Dia fun Ogun Onija oole
Dia fun Obaluwaye
Won ngbogun lo Ejigbomekun Eseji
Akinsana, awo won l’Ejigbomekun Eseji
Dia fun won ni Ejigbomekun Eseji

Bi o ba si Akisana
Ogun a ja Ode Ejigbo

Translation
Obara ose does not manifest on another person
But he who is blessed with the potential to succeed in life
This was the declaration of Ifa to Ogun Onija Oole
Declared same for Obaluwaye
When they were going to Ejigbomekun Eseji on war expedition
The same message was also declared to the inhabitants of
Ejigbomekun Eseji
When they were always full of anxiety of impending war
Akinsana, the resident Awo of the people of Ejigbomekun Eseji
He cast Ifa for them in Ejigbomekun Eseji
Akinsana is truly a proficient Awo
But for Akinsana
War would have sacked the town of Ejigbo
Akinsana, you are truly a proficient Awo

3. Ifa advises the owner of this Odu to advance in his studies of Ifa
knowledge for prosperity. Ifa says that with initiation and Ifa studies,
you will bid farewell to hardship and penury. All you need to do is to
be dedicated to Ifa studies and to offer ebo with 3 roosters, 3
pigeons, 3 guinea fowls and money. You need also to propitiate Ifa
with one of the guinea fowls.
Ifa also advises you to remove the dress you are wearing the day
that you hear this message and go to deposit it on the stump of a
tree in the forest. When you are there, you will declare that ‘this is my
dress of poverty that I have come to remove and deposit in the
forest. You will leave it there and from that day, success will be
yours. Alternatively, you can wear the dress to the forest, remove it
in the forest and wear another one back home. You would have taken
that other dress along with you while going to the forest. On this, Ifa
says
Olobara perenseke
Dia fun Orunmila
Won ni ki baba o lo ree b’oso ise e re sigbo
Won ni ko rubo
O gbebo, orubo
Ko pe, ko jinna
E wa ba ni jebutu ire gbogbo

Translation
Olobara perenseke (name of Awo)
Cast Ifa for Orunmila
When he was asked to go and remove his garment of penury
in the forest
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Not too long
Come and meet us in abundant prosperity

4. Ifa says that there are three major propositions in your life but your
mind is not sure of two. Ifa says that you should not doubt any of the
three propositions and that Ifa will surely make them possible for
you. Ifa says that you will prosper from among a lot of people. For
this to happen, you need to offer ebo so as to gain more respect,
followership and prosperity. The ebo materials include 3 pigeons, 3
roosters and money. You also need to propitiate ile, oja and ona.

Ebo ni won ni ko won se

Translation
Obara sekun se pepe
The Awo of Oja, market cast Ifa for oja
The Awo of Ona, road cast Ifa for Ona
The Awo of Ile, house cast Ifa for Ile
They were advised to offer ebo
It was only Ile, house that complied
Ile was the only on who offered ebo for success and
followership
This is the reason that all what we do on the road or in the market will be
used to enrich and beautify the house.

5. Ifa says that you should as a matter of necessity be truthful in all


your dealings in life. With truth, you shall accomplish all your heart
desires. Ifa says that some of your close friends are not truthful
enough and may be trying to influence you in turning away from the
path of truth. You need to be resolute and consistent in being
truthful and also offer ebo with 3 roosters, 3 guinea fowls and
money. Once these are done, you shall be blessed with all the good
things of life including good followership who would put so much
trust and confidence in you as a result of your moral uprightness. On
this, Ifa says:
Afefe lele nii sewe Iroko yalayala
Efufu lele nii sewe agbon yeere
E wi fun Afefe lele
Ko ma sewe Iroko yalayala mo
E wi fun Efufu lele
Ko ma sewe agbon yeere mo
Ko ma sewe agbon Iroko langafio-langafi o
Dia fun Olomo Ojoro
Dia fun Ojomagiiri-Eta

Won ntorun bo waye
Ebo ni won ni ki won se

Translation
The gentle breeze blows the Iroko leaves
The whirlwind is it that blows the coconut leaves turbulently
Please, inform the gentle breeze
To stop blowing the Iroko leaves
Also inform the whirlwind
To stop blowing the coconut leaves turbulently
And to stop blowing the Iroko leaves back and forth
These were Ifa’s declarations for Olomo Ojoro, the Rainfall
Declared same for Ojomagiiri-Eta, the Turrent
And were also declared for Truth-is-limitless
When they were coming from heaven to earth
They were advised to offer ebo
It was only Truth that complied
Truth was the only one who offered ebo and was blessed with
limitless followership

6. Ifa says that you shall not experience any thing that will bring sorrow
and tears to you. If by any chance you are experiencing sorrow that
makes you shed tears today, Ifa says that you should wipe your tears
that joy and happiness shall soon be your portion. Ifa foresees ire of
financial success for you, but you need to offer ebo with 3 pigeons
and money. You also need to propitiate Ifa. With these, all your woes
and sorrows shall turn to smiles soon. On this, Ifa says:
Won nlagogo kesekese lode Owu
Won nlaran gijagija lojude Ibadan
Dia fun Olofin
Ti yoo da Obara-Ose sile
Ti yoo bu puru sekun
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gbebo, orubo
Obara-Ose kii sonte
Ifa aje lawa nda nile wa o

Translation
They were beating the gong loudly at the land of Owu
They were also beating aran drum with heavy sound at Ibadan
land
These were Ifa’s messages to Olofin
The one whom Obara-Ose was revealed for
And he burst into tears
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Obara-Ose is not a malevolent Odu
The message of financial success is what Ifa has revealed for
us in our household

7. Ifa however warns you to beware of a particular friend who may want
to backbite you. He will be devising various ways to set a trap and
possibly look for your downfall. Ifa says that you need to offer ebo
with a he-goat in order to overcome this treacherous friend. All his
attempts, according to Ifa, shall come to naught. You also need to
propitiate Ifa and Obatala.
On this, Ifa says
Ifa ni yoo see
Oosa ni yoo see
Dia fun Opeere
Ti nlo oko ata
Ebo ni won ni ko wa se
O gbebo, o rubo
Riru ebo nii gbe’ni
Airun kii gbeniyan
Ko pe, ko jinna
E wa ba ni larusegun

Translation
Ifa will surely do it
Oosa will certainly do itl
This was Ifa’s message to Opeere
When going to a pepper farm
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Compliance to the advice is supportive
Non-compliance is not
In due course
Come and meet in triumph

8. Ifa says that there is a particular woman in your life whose


nakedness can not be seen at all. Ifa says that whenever she sleeps
with you, it does not bring forth food tidings. If possible, the woman
can be avoided. There is also the need to make extra-potent Ifa
preparations and etutu in order to neutralize the effect of the bad
omen. Alternatively the pubic hair of the woman can be shaved and
put on Esu while ebo and other special preparations be made. The
ebo materials include 3 roosters or 1 he-goat and money. On this, Ifa
says:

Isale obo ni o see gbin ilasa


Dia fun Olobara
Ti nlo ree toko b’Ose
Ebo ni won ni ko se
O gbebo, o rubo
Ero Ipo, ero Ofa
E wa ba ni ni wowo ire

Translation
The inner chamber of the female genital
Cannot be used to plant dried okra
This was the declaration of Ifa to Olobara
When going to deep his penis into poverty
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Travelers to Ipo and Ofa towns
Come and meet us in abundant prosperity
9. Ifa says that you should try as much as possible to protect the
legacy of your ancestral lineage. Even though somebody may be
trying to spoil or bring to ridicule or ruins their ancestral family
heritage, efforts should be geared towards its protection and
preservation. However, there is the need to offer ebo with 3 roosters
or 1 he-goat and money. On this, Ifa says:
Ibon lapati
Ibon o lapati
Ko seni to je ki won kojuu tokosi da oun
Dia fun Olobara
To nloo bale Ose je
Olobara ma bale Ose je o
Ile ibi yii kii se’le baba iwo nikan soso
Olobara ma bale Ose je

Translation
Whether a gun has bullets
Or does not have any bullet at all
Nobody wants others to point the gun at him
This was Ifa’s message to Olobara
When going to spoil the ancestral home of Ose
He was advised to offer ebo
Olobara, please don’t spoil this home
This home does not belong to your father alone

10. Ifa says that you have natural propensity to be greater than all
your siblings. However, Ifa advises you to offer ebo so that your
wealth and success will not attract envy, malice and back-biting
from among your siblings. You need to offer ebo with 3 pigeons, 3
roosters and money.
Ifa says that your success will also attract a lot of followership in
terms of people and resource. On this, Ifa says:
Obara sekun se pepe
Awo Ile dia fun Ile
Ebo apesin ni won ni ko se
O gbebo, o rubo
Ko pe, ko jinna
E wa ba ni ba’o
E wa wo ire

Translation
Obara sekun se pepe
The resident Awo of Ile, house
Cast Ifa for Ile
He was advised to offer ebo of good followership
He complied
Not too long
Come and behold joy and prosperity

11. Ifa says that there is a pregnant woman close to the owner of this Ifa
who is presently confronted with health challenges. Ifa advises that
she needs to offer ebo so that the ill-health will not affect her safe
delivery of the baby. The ill-health, according to Ifa is capable of
impairing the life of this woman and even the fetus. In this wise, she
needs to offer 3 roosters and money. One of the roosters should be
offered to her Ori while another be slaughtered with the blood spilled
on the ebo. Ifa says that once this is done, she will regain her health
and also have safe delivery. On this, Ifa says:
Ile jijo nii mu’nii mole Owa
Awaalo arun nii mu’ni mole Isegun
Arun ti a wowoowo ti o fe
Nii mu won-on m’ode orun o
Dia fun segede-ngba
Ti nbe lorita aye, lorita orun
Segede-ngba laa pe aboyun
Won ni ko rubo
Ki ibi ara ree lee kuro
Ko lee bimo saye
O gbebo, o rubo

Translation
The burning of a house drags the owner to the king’s palace
for litigation
The illness that refuses to disappear drags the infirm to the
medicine man
The ailment that was treated without improvement
Will surely show the infirm the way to heaven
These were Ifa’s messages for Segede-ngba
Who was at the boundary between heaven and earth
Segede-ngba is the name a pregnant woman is called
She was advised to offer ebo
For all ailments in her body to disappear
For her to deliver safely
She complied

12. Ifa says that you shall have good children who will become
prosperous and even survive you on earth. All their endeavours shall be
a thing of joy to you. However, Ifa warns you to desist from wearing
dress that was not hemmed any longer. This cloth, according to Ifa is a
taboo for you and may adversely affect the manifestation of what Ifa
predicted with regard to your children above. You also need to offer ebo
with 8 fish, 8 rats, hen and money and to propitiate Yemoja. On this, Ifa
says:
Olobara ma sekun mo
Alaso hunso tan
O ti gb’aso lo o
Dia fun Yemoja
Ti won ni ko ma faso oniroro jo mo
Nitori omo
O gbebo, o rubo

Translation
Olobara, don’t bother to spin wool anymore
The cloth maker had finished making the dress
And had even taken the dress away
This was Ifa’s message for Yemoja
Who was warned never to dance with unhemmed dress
again
Because of her children
She complied

13. Ifa warns that there is the need for us to make a comprehensive ritual
for an Abiku child in order to prevent the child from meeting untimely
death. Ifa says that the name of this child will be Ayedun meaning that Life
is sweet. If there is a pregnant woman in a place where this Odu is
revealed, she needs to perform ebo so that this child will not die young. Ifa
advises to offer ebo with one he-goat, one loin and money. There is also
the need to prepare special work with agidimagboin leaves. This leaf will be
grinded into fine powder and put in a cotton wool and tied with white and
black thread. After this preparation, it will be sown on the loin which will be
used to strap the baby on the mother’s back when it is born. On this, Ifa
says:
Afun pinpin leyin erin
A ba kitipon leyin efon
Dia fun Yeye Iwalere
Ti yoo loyun Iwalere ninu
Ebo ni won ko wa se
O gbebo, o rubo
Ayedun ma ma lo
Iwalere, aye dun ma ma lo.

Translation:
Afun pinpin leyin erin
A ba kitipon leyin efon
They were the ones who cast Ifa for Iwalere’s mother
When carrying the pregnancy of Iwalere
She was advised to offer ebo
She complied
Life is interesting, please don’t go
Iwalere, life is sweet please don’t go

14. Ifa says that you will be able to re-unite with your lost or long distance
friends. Ifa says that the re-union will bring pleasant memories. Ifa advises
you to offer ebo with three pigeons, three guinea fowls and three roosters.
Ooko nii turi ma ni ooya
Dia fun Yeye Opalegbin
Yeye Opalegbin lo kifa fun Agesin-lori-owa
Agesin-lori-owa lo kifa fun Ejo-to-moran-egeey ye
Ejo-to-moran-egee ye lo kifa fun Opeere abosu-loloolo
Tii sawo ile Onidoko
Opeere waa de o, awo ile Onidoko
Awa ma riraa wa, awa n yo seseese

Translation:
The he-goat is it that has a splendid hair patterns on its head without
having a comb
This was the Ifa cast for Yeye Opalegbin
Yeye Opalegbin was the one who cast Ifa for Agesin-lori-owa
Agesin-lori-owa was the on who cast Ifa for Ejo-to-moran-egeey ye
Ejo-to-moran-egee ye lo also cast Ifa for Opeere abosu-loloolo
Who was the resident awo of the household of Onidoko
Here comes Opeere, the resident Awo of Onidoko’s household
After seeing each other, we are full of joy.

15. Ifa says it promises victory for you. Ifa also says that you shall b ea
leader whom other people will be following. Ifa advises you not to be using
iyerosun for you Odu. Ifa advises you to use two ducks, two pigeons and
two roosters. On this, Ifa says:
Obara Ose kii se sile-ele
Ori ara re nii see si
Dia fun Iyerosun
Ti yoo jolori oba igi laarin igbe

Translation:
Obara Ose is never revealed for nothing
It manifests for those who had cast the Odu
This was the Ifa cast for iyerosun
Who shall become the king among the forest trees
16. Ifa advises both husband and wife to offer ebo for good children in life.
The husband will offer two roosters and money while the wife will offer two
hens and money. After this, they will feed Obatala with 16 snails. On this,
Ifa says:
Konkoso a bi iranpon
Dia fun Olobara
Ti yoo wole t ‘Ase
Ebo ni won ni o wa se
O gbebo, o rubo
Olobara lo wole t’Ase
Ni ire omo kunle bereere

Translation:
Konkoso a bi iranpon
Cast Ifa for Olobara
Who will engage in the act of love making
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
When Olobara engaged in the act of love making
They became blessed with many children

17. Ifa says that your life will be very interesting and successful.  Ifa
says that you are very close to the twin deity (Ibeji) and therefore, you
will be getting all the good things of life in twos.  Ifa says that do not
hesitate or be afraid to buy or acquire two things together at the same
time.  The spirits guiding you know how to provide for you for you to be
successful in such undertakings.
 
Ifa says that you shall be extremely successful in all aspects of life.   All
you need to do is to offer sacrifice with two guinea fowls, two pigeons,
two ducks, two hens, two cocks and money.  You are also to feed Ifa
with 8 rats, 8 fish and money while you are to feed Ibeji deity with all
available edibles, especially black beans and cock. On these Ifa says:

Ònà tá ò ntò ré níí se ni sìbálá-sìbolo
Díá fún won ní Ìwàré-Àtan
Wón jí wón nwá ire gbogbo
Ebo ni wón ní kí wón se

Translation:
 
To learn from Ifa is to become an adept in Ifá
To miss the road is to know the road
The route one has never passed before is it that confuses one
These were Ifá’s declarations to them at Ìwàré-Àtan
When they were in search of all the good things in life
They were advised to offer sacrifice

In twos do the acquire wealth at Ìwàré-Àtan town
In two do they acquire spouses at Ìwàré-Àtan town
In two do the acquire children at Ìwàré-Àtan town
In two do they acquire horses at Ìwàré-Àtan town

In twos do they acquire all the good things of life at Ìwàré-Àtan

18.  Ifá says that where you will succeed, you will be a complete
stranger there. You will not know anybody there.  It will not be the area
you were born or close to the area.  You will begin to get yourself
acquainted to the place and your environment.  Before you know it, you
would have completely established yourself and your abilities.  Before
you realize what is going on, the leaders in your area will become your
own followers.  By the time it dawn on you as to how great you have
become, you would have become one molding public opinion or giving
directions to social, political, economic and religious beliefs. You will
give discourses to the public in your area.
There is the need to offer sacrifice with things in two, two white pigeons
and plenty of monkey-nuts.  These fruits will also be used with some
other ingredients to prepare a special soap for you in order to make this
prediction and promise of Ifa to come true without much problems.  On
this Ifa says:

Òbàrà-Òsé se bí àlejò ni mí

Translation:
 
Òbàrà-Òsé, you know you are a complete stranger
Òbàrà-Òsé you know I am a total stranger
It is a stranger we seek advice from
This was the Ifa casted for Orunmila
When going to a town where he knew no one
When going to where he was not acquainted to anyone
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He complied
What is it that makes my being well known and respected?
It is the monkey-nuts
Which made it possible for me to be well known and respected.
 

19. Ifa says that you shall always overcome your adversary, no matter
how many they may be.  Ifa says that you must be speaking boldly at all
times.  You must never allow anyone to over awe you or intimidate you. 
Use your mouth to talk yourself our of trouble; not by negotiating your
rights away, but by calling the bluff of your opponents at all times.  Ifa
says that your mouth must always serve as your own gun.  By so doing,
you shall overcome.  Ifa says you are closely linked with Ogun in this
regards.  You need to offer sacrifice with one he goat and money. 
There after you will feed Ogun with one dog or ram (whichever is
possible in your area)  one cock for Esu and money.  A stanza in Obara
Ose in support of this says:
 
Sebo Kìsì
Kí o má baà kú kìsì
Díá fún Ìkanrìgìdí
Tíí somo okùn rín Ògún
Nígbà ti ó nbe láàrìn òtá
Ebo nì wón ní kó se
Ó gbébo, ó rúbo

In order to avoid cheap death
This was the declaration of Ifa to Ikanrigidi
The child of Ogun
When in the midst of enemies

Whether a gun is filled with bullets
Or it is not filled
Even a madman will not let anyone point it at him
Ever since the early morning
The mouth with which we speak is what we used to overcome our
enemies.
 

20. Ifa says that whenever you are sick or are having nightmares or bad
dreams.  It is Ifa himself who will protect you, not charms, not drugs, not
your wisdom.
Ifa says that if anyone tries to beat you up or batter you without
justification, there is the tendency that such a person will meet with a
serious calamity.  this is because Ifa is your protection and support. 
You cannot be cheated, you must not cheat.  Anyone who does that,
man or witches, does so at their own peril.  On this Ifa says:

Wón njìn mí níkùn igbìngbìn-igbìngbìn
Wón npa mí nípa bìsìná

Translation:
 
I am being hit repeated on the head
They are hitting my stomach with all force and mercilessly
They are beating me so mercilessly, without compassion
As if they were beating a beast
This was the Ifa cast for Obara Ose
The protector and supporter of all Awo
He was advised to offer sacrifice
He complied
Ifa declared that all those who are hitting me repeatedly on the
head
May Ifa send them to heaven
And those hitting my stomach with all force without mercy
As if they are beating a beast
May Ifa send them to their untimely deaths
Here comes Obara Ose
The protector and supporter of all Awo.
 
You need to offer sacrifice with one he goat, 2 cocks, 2 hens, 2 pigeons,
50 kolanuts, 50 bitter kolas, liquors, palm oil and money.  You will also
use part to feed Ifa.
 
21.  Ifa says that by the time that you went for Ifa initiation there were
many aspect of your life that you were struggling for but where not
successful.  Ifa says that even thought you may claim that you went into
Ifa out of interest, quite a number of your efforts before o got initiated
were due to persuasions and encouragements from loved ones.  Ifa
says that you will achieve a lot of success in almost every aspect of
your life.  this is because you were created into this world by Olodumare
in order to come and achieve.  In other words, you are one of the few
achievers of this world.
Ifa says that you need to offer sacrifice with one he goat and money. 
After this, you will feed Ifa with one goat, eight rats, 8 fish, 2 hens and
money.  After you might have done all  this, you will now serve the head
of the goat, the heads of the rats, hens and fish to Ifa.  You will burn
them into powder, then grind them up.  You will put this Odu into it and
pray into it.  After this, you’ll put it into a bottle or a container.  You will
place it on your Ifa for 16 days.  After the 16th day, you will begin to use
it, one spoonful in any porridge of your choice everyday (oats, custard,
etc.) without sugar.  If this can be done, you will be able to achieve all
your hearts desire, far beyond your wildest imagination.  On this Ifa
says:

Odudumade
He was the Awo who cast Ifa for Ewi, the King of Ado Eki
Who was not as successful as his colleagues in Ekiti-Efon town
He was advised to offer sacrifice

we cannot kill a rat
For it not to have a head
The problems shall be resolved and it shall be accomplished
We cannot kill a fish
For it not to have a head
The matter of Ewi shall surely have a head(accomplishment)
We cannot kill a bird
For it not to have a head
The matter of Ewi shall surely have a head
We cannot kill a beast
For it not to have head
The matter of Ewi shall surely have a head
 

22.  Ifa says that as bright as your chances to success are, you must
ensure that all the things which have been highlighted as your taboos
are strictly adhered to. If you do not observe and avoid these taboo,
they may give you untold problems and land you in troubles of
monumental proportions.  This area is the most important aspect of your
Odu.  On this Ifa says.
 
Alábahun níí jí, níí fopón Ifá borí
Ìgbín níí ràjò, níí filé e rè serù
Eegún Ìkamùdù níí jáde tòun tìyé
Díá fún Olódùmarè Agòtún
Ó dálé Ayé tán
Ó fi Èèwò joba won
Bí a bá tefá
A ó kùú
Bí a ò sì tefá
A ó kùú
E sá jé ká mo Èèwò
Èèwò nìkam ló le lórò
Ló ju gbogbo won lo o
Èèwò ló npa omo aráyé

Translation:
 
It is the tortoise which wakes and places the Ifa tray on its head
The snail is it which travels and uses its house as its load
The black ant’s masquerade is if which comes out in its flying
costumes
These were the declaration of Ifa to Olodumare
After creating the world
He made taboo its king
If we undergo Ifa initiation
We shall later die
If we do not under initiation
We shall later die
Please let us recognize taboo
Taboo is the most difficult
The most delicate of them all
It is taboo killing people in the world
They were merely accusing death falsely.
 
Ifa says that your success in life, your ability to achieve success,
happiness and sound health depends entirely on how much taboo you
are able to recognize and avoid.
 

23. Ifa says that you need to have a yearly celebration at your home.
This will ensure that you do not fall into any trap in your life or enter into
any serious problems.  You may choose a date which may coincide with
the period you were initiated.  This will surely enhance your chances of
success in life.
Ifa says that when this is to be done you need to feast people with food
and wine. You will however ensure that pumpkin is part of the items you
serve them.  Pumpkin is the most important fruit you need to be taking
regularly and which you must be feeding you Ifa.  This fruits has the
potential to attract all the good things of life to you at all times.  A stanza
in Òbàrà-Òsé in support of this assertion says:
 
Irúlá níí kolà láè lábe
Òpéèré abòsù gumògumò
Díá fún won ní Ìwàré Àkísan
Níbì wón gbé nsorò láè l’ésú
Ebo nì wón ní kí wón se
Wón gbébó, wón rúbo
Njé èrò yà, é
E wá j’Esín o
Érò yà
Esín làwa fi nsorò n’Iwàré o
Èrò yà, wá jesín o
 
Translation:
 
The Okro is it which has its stripes from within
The Opeere bird with its bushy tuft on it head
These were the Ifa cast for them at Iware-Akisan
Where they were observing their festival without pumpkin
They were advised to offer sacrifice
They complied
Now, passengers please come here
Come and eat pumpkin
It is pumpkin we use in the celebration of our annual festival at
Iware
Passers-by, please come here and eat pumpkin
 

24. Ifa says that you have a sibling who is very close to you, but
unfortunately in spite of the fact that you appear to match each other
very well.  There is the tendency that you are most likely going to hurt
each other badly.  On the other hand, you may have a spouse whom
your activities appear to complement each other. You need to take care
as that you do not end up incurring grievous harm from your spouse.
Another possibility is that your first child and your second child may
appear close to each other.  You however need to separate them
physically so that one may not harm the other.
 
It may equally be your close pal whom you need to be very careful with
in order to avoid a situation where the activity of one may lead to the
death of the other.  You need to check with Ifa on which one of the four
possibilities listed is referring to you.  On this Ifa says:

Díá fún Léwì
Tíí se Olotan ìsáná
Ebo nì wón ní kí wón se
Kò rúbo
Ìpín aláìsebo, ègbà àìtèrú
Ifá wá se léríró gangan
 

Translation:
 
Obara Ose
He was the one who cast Ifa for Lewi, the tinder
Who is a close companion of the match
They were advised to offer sacrifice
They simply ignored the advice
Then, the match led to the death of the tinder.
 
Sacrifice material: One he-goat and money
 

25. Ifa says that your luck shines at its best whenever you are very
close to the sea or river or a large stream.  Consequently, Ifa
recommends that you put your home very close to the river, sea, stream
etc.  If this is not possible you need to sink a well or a borehole in your
home where water can be gotten at all times.  If this proves
impracticable, then you need to get yourself a very large basin which
you must fill with water at all times. This will be attracting al the good
thing of life to you.
Ifa also says that you are also very good with any work that will take you
close to water.  Such world as fishing, plumbing, diving, etc. are very
good for you.  You may also be sinking wells and boreholes as your
profession.  You simply cannot regret this line of work. On this Ifa says:
 
Towó pa mí
Kí n tesè kú
Awo Òbàrà – Òsé
Díá fún Alákàn-níyàngì
Tíí somo odò Olúwerí
Ó jí ní kùtùkùtù
Ó nménu sùnráhùn ìre gbogbo
Eyé tí wón ní kó más lo sísé

Kànga gbígbé etídò nísé e

Ó gbébo, ó rubo
Ajé wolé wá
Kó o wá numi òdèdè
Aya wolé wá

The Awo of Obara Ose
He was the Awo who cast Ifa for the clumsy crab
the offspring of the flowing stream
Who woke up early in the morning
And was weeping in lamentation of his inability to secure all the
good things of life
He was advised to go and be doing the job of his forefathers
Sinking wells is the job of his forefathers
He heeded the wise advice
Let wealth enter this house
And drink from the water placed at the verandah
Let spouse enter the house
And drink from the water placed at the verandah
Let children enter the house
And drink from the water placed at the verandah
Let all the good things of life enter this house
And drink from the water placed at the verandah
Come rain, come shine, the house of the crab is never dry
The crab will never lack water.
 
Sacrifice materials;  3 pigeons, 3 guinea fowls, 3 hens, 3 ducks and
money
 
 
26. Ifa says that you must always be careful of those whom you wish to
employ as your sub-ordinates.  Do not go and spend your money on
those who may eventually cause you trouble or harm
 
On this, you need to offer sacrifice with one he goat and money.  You
also need to feed Esu wit one cock.  You still need to be extremely
cautious. On this Ifa says:
 
Òbàrà sékùn sé pèpé
Díá fún Aáyán
Ti nlòó gba ologò adìe
Wón ní kó má se é
Kò gbò
Ó lo ra adìe ní ologò
Ó dée mó ínú àgò
Ó wá ní òun nlo wo erú òun
Ni adìe bá gbé Aá yán je
Njé adìe gbe Ologó o rè je
Ará á dó o
 
Translation:
 
Obara sekun se pepe
He was the Awo who cast Ifa for the cockroach
When coming to buy the cock as his slave
He was advised not to do
He simply ignored the warning
the cockroach brought the cock as his slave
And put the cock in a cage
The cockroach then went into the cage to inspect his
newly acquired slave
the cock then swallowed the cockroach
The cock had eaten the master
Here comes the end of the cock’s slavery period
 

27.  Ifa says that if your father is alive, he is not happy with you.  If he is
dead, his spirit is angry with you.  You cannot afford to have your father
against you.  Consequently, you need to feed the Ori of you father or his
spirit with one ram so that all the well being enjoyed by your father can
extend to you.  By  so doing, you shall be able to achieve all your hearts
desire easily.  That is exactly what you need. On this Ifa says:
 
Ifá ní e mí kàn mí o
Òrò àmíkàn ló dé
Amí-kan’gbá ni tahun
Ifá ní e mí kàn mí o
Òrò àmíkàn ló dé
Àmí-kàn’rú ni tejò
Ifá ní e mí kàn mí o
Òrò àmíkàn ló dé
Àmí-kan’kokoro ni tìdé ìgbín
Díá fún Olásùnmíkàn nÍjèsà
Èyí tó ní ire baba òun ò
Tún kan òun mó láíláí
Ebo ni wón ní kó wáá se
Ó gbébo, ó rúbo
Njé baba à mi gbàgbò
Kí o mí kàn mí o
Gbogbo Ìjèsà níí jé Asùnmíkàn
Káríkárí
 
Translation:
 
Ifa declares that people should breath to touch me positively
this is the time to affect me positively
When the tortoise breaths, it affects the shell
Ifa declares that people should breath to touch me positively
When the snake breaths, it affects the tail
Ifa declares that people should breath to touch me positively
This is the time to affect me positively
When the snail breathes, it affect the tip of its shell
These were the Ifa cast for Olasunmikan
Who felt that the well-being of his father will never touch him
positively
He was advised to sacrifice
He complied
My father, please accept this ram
And breath to touch me positively
All Ijesa people enjoy the well-being of their fathers.
 

28.  Ifa says that you must never take part in sharing in other people
inheritance.  If your parents die or any of your loved ones for that
matter, you must not accept any legacy left for you.  If you had already
enjoyed such benefits, it must be given out to a competent Babalawo in
your area who will know how to dispose of it judiciously  this is because
benefiting from the properties or money of any dead person runs
contrary to your luck in life.  Such can only bring trouble and
disappointment.  Ifa says also that whenever you want to offer sacrifice,
the Ifa tray must not be used for you: neither must Iyerosun, the
divination power be used.  Only Opele the divination seed must be used
for you.  At the end of the sacrifice, the base of the Opele chain must be
dipped into the water while the water will be shaken into the sacrifice
from the Opele.  By so doing, all the reasons of offering the sacrifice will
be realized.  Using the Opon and Iyerosun only amounts to the waste of
the resources as Ifa says that whatever the reason for consulting Ifa and
for offer the sacrifice will not be realized.
 
In all Ifa says that you shall have full control over all what you are
looking for in your life.  In short, you are the master of your destiny. 
Your success depends entirely on the extent to which you keep to and
avoid all the taboo stipulated in your Odu.  On this Ifa says:
 
Asínsín ló sí
Asínsín mo’ná
Díá fún Opón
Ti nlòó gba’wo nílé Ontagi Òlélé
Ó délé Óntagi Olélé
Ó ní kó rúbo ní torí Ogun
Ó rúbo fún-un tán
Ogun tún sú perepere lójú u púpó
Opón rubo tán
Ó gbon iyè sí ebo
Ebo ò fín
Ebo ò dà
Wón wá lo rèé ké sí Awon Òpèlè ò ní’yè
Áwo ilé Ontagi Òlélé
Díá fún Ontagi Òlélé
Tó fèyìntí mójú ekún sùnráhun Ogun
Wón ní kó fi gbogbo Ogún ilé e re
rúbo nítorí Ogun

The madmen took off

This was the Ifa cast for Opon the divination tray
When going to cast Ifa for Onitagi Olele
He arrived in the home of Onitagi Olele
He advised him to offer sacrifice in order to ward off war
After offering the sacrifice
War erupted again in greater force
When Opon offered the sacrificed for Onitagi Olele
He sprinkled the Iyerosun into the sacrifice
The sacrifice was totally rejected
They went to call on Opele, who no Iyerosun
Opele the Awo of Onitagi Olele
He was the awo who cast Ifa for Onitagi Olele
When weeping in constant fear of war
He as advised to offer all what was obtained by inheritance as
sacrifice in order to ward off war
He complied
Now, you Opele, who has no Iyerosun, enter into the water
And shake your body into my sacrifice
Before long, not too far
Come and join me in the midst of all the good things of life.
