What a journey it has been, a line from the song Journey, perfectly cap
tures my experience as a leader. 
It simply indicates that the journey has not been as easy-going as I had hop
ed.
The only time you can specify what you will do specifically given the cir
cumstances of your organization is when you are actually in a leadership sett
ing. 
In my situation as a leader, I have kept up a personal contact with my fellow 
teachers, which leads to some degree of familiarity and the fact that my sub
ordinates occasionally abuse my authority. 
Such is nor surprising because we have been together prior to becoming a
school principal.

Regarding my current leadership development, I have been working to beco
me more businesslike in my interactions with other teachers while always retaining 
some level of leniency and compassion for teachers' circumstances.
