Chapter 4

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS DATA AND INTERPRETATION OF FINDINGS

This chapter presents the information collected and provide a thorough analysis and
interpretation of the data. The findings are provided in accordance with the chapter 1
problems.

PROFILE OF THE GAS STUDENTS

The study involved a total of hundred forty-seven (147) gas students. The respondents (gas
students) were chosen to respond because they are the most accurate source of information
about parental involvement, particularly with regard to the academic standards their parents
had set

Table 1.1 shows the responses of respondents from grade 12 GAS students of Mangaldan
National High school. The data gathered indicated above that 34 or 23.13% of the selected
grade 12 GAS students have strict parents when it comes to their homework, 51 or 34.69% are
encouraged by their parents to get high grades, 42 or 28.57% are encouraged by their parents
to work harder in school, and 20 or 13.61% have other reasons

The study showed that most of the grade 12 GAS students in Mangaldan National Highschool
have parents that has academic standards set to them. This may be because of their needs in
academic achievements standards for them in the future.

Table 1.2 shows the responses of the respondents from the Grade 12 GAS Students of the
Mangaldan National High School. The data gathered indicated above that 77 or 52.38 % of the
selected grade 12 GAS student have been help by their parents when it comes to their studies
and 70 or 47.62 % are not helped by their parents.

The study shows that most of the grade 12 GAS students in Mangaldan National High School
have parents that are helping them. This means that most of the respondents have good
academic behavior.

Table 1.3 shows the responses of the respondents from the Grade 12 GAS Students of the
Mangaldan National High School. The data gathered indicated above that 70 or 47.62% of the
respondents are often communicated by their parents, 48 or 32.65% are very often
communicated by their parents, 20 or 13.41% are seldom communicated by their parents, and
9 or 6.12% are never communicated by their parents.

The study shows that most of the grade 12 Gas students of Mangaldan National Highschool are
often communicated by their parents. This means that most of the respondents have good
communication with their parents.

Table 1.4 shows the responses of the respondents from the Grade 12 GAS Students of the
Mangaldan National High School. The data gathered indicated above that 67 or 45.58% of the
respondents are lacking of time, 30 or 20.41% are lacking of communication with their parents,
31 or 21.09% are lacking of motivation, 13 or 8.84% are lacking of management of other things,
and 6 or 4.08% are lacking of courage.

The study shows that most of the grade 12 GAS students in Mangaldan National Highschool are
lacking of time with their parents. This means that most of the respondents haven’t much time
with their parents
