AIM:-
Visit a construction project site and discuss different quality control and
monitoring measure being employed by them.
OBJECTIVE:-
To get the knowledge of Materials and machinery’s used at construction site.
To get the knowledge of quality control managed at the construction site.
To observe the activities take place at construction site.
Beside the knowledge which we get from theory to know about the
implementation in quality control in to be done in site.
BASIC SITE INFORMATION:-
1) Site title:- Construction of civil engineering collage building (diploma) at DR.
S.&SS Gandhy collage of engineering and technology, majuragate, surat.
2) Estimate cost:- 8.35 cr.
3) Contractor name:- Manish bhai
4) Engineer name:- Kishan bhai
5) Supervisor:- Lalbhai
6) Starting project from:- 02/01/2023
7) Duration time:- 1.5 years
8) Type of construction:- Institutional building
OBSERVATION:-
Sand:- Sand used for construction is of narmada and sometimes they use sand
of Cikhli.
Course aggregate:- Size of course aggregate is 10-12mm which is brought from
Cikhli.
Cement:- OPC cement is used in construction.
(Ordinary Portland Cement)
▪ Company- JK Laxmi.
▪ Grade of cement is 53.
Concrete grade:- M25 Concrete grade is used.
Water:- Boring water is used for making of concrete.
Footing:- According to design, contractor is using two types of footing.
1) Step footing (3x3.2x0.4m)
2) Combined footing (3x5.8x0.9m)
Reinforcement:- Concrete has used-Grade Fe500 TMT bar of Jintel german
25mm dia. And 20mm dia. Are used in columns. And 8mm dia. For stirrups.
Column:- There are column shape used at construction site.
1) Rectangular column (300x750mm)
2) Circular column:-
Activites on site during visit:- Back hoe is used for the excavation of
foundation. Bering capacity of back hoe is 15.41 ton/m3. Depth of excavation
is 3.6m types of yellow soil.
Planning is carried out for the removal of honey combing.
For maintain concrete quality they made 15x15x15 in cm cube and testing the
compressive strength test. Which is done by bhumi research laboratory.

Overall 3 testing laboratory
STRENGTH:-
Duration of work is within a expected time.
Construction is under control of Gujarat government (Road and Building
Department).
Contractors working at site is also of government control.
WEAKNESS:-
Safety measure at construction site is very less.
Duration of curing is not oppropriate or very less.
Honeycomb is occurred because of very bad compaction process.
The soil which is excavated for footing is dumped at site only.
REMARK:-
Contractor should increase a safety parameter at site.
Instead of using boring water they should use potable water to make concrete
for batter strength.
Contractor should increase the days of curing, so that crackes does not occur in
concrete.
