STARTING AMOS APPLICATION
1. Find the icon
Double click
Logon Screen
1. Click in the Login ID field
and type your user name.
2. Press Tab to move to the
Password field and type your
password. One * appears for
each character you type.
3. Click OK or press Return
to log on.
4. Click Cancel or press ESC if
you started AMOS Business
Suite by accident, or if you
want to start over again.
Windows/Filters in AMOS
• Switch Department to Change to different departments.
• Double click on any department in the switch department pop up
window.

Component Filter
The component Filter helps to search for components / equipments in the PMS
either by component number (unique number for each component) or by
component name or by class code (in case it’s a class item) or department
wise (eng /deck /elec). Search by component number.
Click on the button.

LISTING CRITICAL COMPONENTS/EQUIPMENTS
The component filter can be used to list all critical components in the
PMS
• Click on Maintenance menu >> Components >> Component Filter
(Shown below) >> Advanced Tab >> Only Component Classes >> Select

• List of Critical components will be displayed as below:

JOB DESCRIPTION FILTER
The job description filter can be used to view all/ search existing jobs
in the PMS. Jobs can be searched for by using the job code, job title or
job class as shown below.

WORK ORDER FILTER
The work order filter is used to view/ list work orders that are
overdue/ due now / due this/next week / between a date range in the
PMS.
To list over due and due jobs >> tick overdue and due now >> click
on okay button. A list of overdue jobs will be displayed.

overdue check boxes.
For date range double
click in the column to
select the date from the
calendar.
Reporting over due and due jobs
The overdue jobs are listed >> right click on the one to be reported >> select report
work.

The Report screen >> details tab >> double click in date done to select the date when
the job was done. In case the job our is non – periodic (running hour based) , the
counter column will be enabled and the current counter value must be entered in the
value field as shown below.

To enter history >> go to History Tab >> Type in the history.

• The General tab gives the general information of the component.

• The jobs tab gives the job details about all the jobs connected to a
particular component.

Component Window >> Work Order Tab
• The work order tab shows all the details of work orders that are
associated with a particular component. A work order can be reported
from this tab. Right click >> report work >> report screen (as shown in
the previous slide “reporting work”)

Overdue critical jobs
• To filter out overdue critical jobs ÆClick on Maintenance menu >>
work orders >> Tick mark Overdue and due now as shown below, Then
click on Advanced tab.

data in all the fields >> Click on OK

Recording UnPlanned Maintenance
• After doing the above mentioned steps the work order will be
added to the
• existing list of work orders under Maintenance Work orders and
can be
• reported the same way as other planned work orders.
• For jobs which have a planned Maintenance already in the PMS,
but an unplanned maintenance is carried out before the due
date (for some unforeseen situation), In such cases the work
should be reported as a Planned Maintenance job and an
unplanned Maintenance job also.
• While reporting the job as a Planned Maintenance update the
Counters. While entering the history for the planned
maintenance mention that the job was carried out as a
unplanned maintenance along with the date.
Update Counters
To list all the counters of running hour based jobs, go to
Maintenance menu >> counters >> update >> counter filter
will open >> click OK button .

The list of all counters will be listed. To Update the counter value >> select the
record >> go to counter value column >> type in the new value. To select a date
prior >> double click in the Date Read cell >> calendar pop‐up appears >> select
required date >> Click Save.

STOCK ITEM FILTER
• The stock filter is used to list all the stock items in the PMS. The listing
can be filtered out based on stock number, stock name and stock class.
Click on Stock menu >> Stock items>> Stock item filter.
