Part 2: The graph and the table below give information about water use worldwide and water

consumption in two different countries. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the
main features, and make comparison where relevant. Write at least 120 words.

Water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000

Country Population Irrigated land Water consumption per person

Brazil 176 million 26.500 km2 359 m3

Democratic Republic of Congo 5.2 million 100 km2 8 m3

The given line graph demonstrate the water consumption in different sectors, namely agriculture, industry
and homes around the world and how water usage changes rapidly from 1900 to 2000. It also compares the
needs of water in the agriculture sector in two different countries according to their population.
Over the century, the agricultural sector had the biggest water usage, which began at 500 km3 and
progressively increased to roughly 3000 km3. Water consumption was at a low in 1900 and remained so for
the next half-century. Water use in the industrial sector increased dramatically to over 1000 km3 after 1950,
whereas water consumption in the home sector increased little to around 300 km3.
The table depicts water use in various parts of the world. Brazil has 26,500 km2 of irrigated land with a
population of 176 million and a water consumption per person of 359 m3, but D.R.C. has 100 km2 of
irrigated land with a population of just 5.2 million and a water consumption per person of 8 m3. Nevertheless,
in irrigated fields, Brazil consumed more water while Congo consumed less.

Part 3: Write about the following topic (about 250 words):

Some people believe that teachers should be responsible for teaching students the
different between right and wrong. Others say that teachers should only teach academic
subjects.
Discuss both viewpoints and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge
or experience. (Do not include your personal information).
Whereas many people emphasize the importance of teaching moral principles, other convince that children
should only be taught academic knowledge by their teachers. This essay will reach the target to discuss both
opinions and present my own perspective.
To begin with, the statement that teachers should be responsible for teaching students to judge what is right
and wrong so that they can behave well is not common in traditional education. However, teachers can
simplify the complex, and make abstract concepts accessible to students. Furthermore, some parents are busy
with their own career pursuit so they don’t have time to care about their children whereas some of them are
factually not yet good examples for their kids to learn. Nowhere can kids find their orientation in their
behavior more effectively in the teachers’ advice and instructions at school.
But on the other hand, I would agree with these who believe that teachers should only teach academic
knowledge because academic teaching is the main duty of schools while teaching children to behave well is
the job of parents. As a result, teachers will feel less burdened to focus on their specialized task that is to
equip children with necessary knowledge to become confident in dealing with challenges in life. Parents, who
stay by their childrent’s side, from the childhood to adulthood, can understand them more than ever. Besides,
in some cases, no matter which path a teacher takes, the values and morals inherently instilled are can not
changed. And even if the content of class is completely impartial, students have to learn through the lens of a
teacher.
All in all, each view has its own reasons, and my belief is that the harmonious combination of these subjects
might be the best choice.
