Environmental Ethics deal with right wrong

actions of mankind in respect of his
surroundings such as in air, water, land and
other species etc.

We encountered so much problems or issues

about our environment, and still today we
experiencing it. However, we can see that
there’s some improvement about it.

This act was promulgated in 1986, and termed

as an environmental protection act. Objectives
of this act are;
a. Protection and improvement of
environment (water, air and land)
b. Prevention of hazards to all living creatures
(humans, plants and animals) and property.
c. Maintenance of harmonious relationship
between human beings and their environment.

Second, Air Prevention and Control of Act.

This act was promulgated in 1987, objectives
of this act are;
a. Prevention, control and abatement of air
pollution
b. Maintaining the quality of air.
c. Establishment of boards for the prevention
and control of air pollution.

Third, The Water (Prevention and Control of

Pollution) Act. The Water Act was enacted by
Parliament Act, 1974 purpose to provide for
the prevention of control of water pollution
and the maintaining or restoring of
wholesomeness of water. "Pollution" has been
elaborately defined as the contamination of
water, or the alteration of physical, chemical,
biological properties of water etc.

Next, Wildlife Act, 1972, a landmark in the

protection wildlife in India especially after the
second world war when the struggle for
freedom started taking its shape and the
wildlife was ignored to sustain at its own
risks. Mentioned below are the main points:
• Prohibition of Hunting
• Prohibition of picking, uprooting specified
plants
• Sanctuaries, National Parks and Closed
Areas
• Recognition of Zoos

Lastly, we have Forest Conservation Act,

1980, an act to provide for the conservation of
forests and for matters connected with
protection of trees from illegal felling and
