The company prepared for potential impacts of COVID-19 through scenario planning. IT teams prepared laptops and VPN access for all employees in case a work from home policy was needed. When the pandemic was declared, employees transitioned smoothly to working from home as everything was already in place. This allowed the company to have a successful year while competitors faced revenue slumps, showing the value of scenario planning to analyze uncertainties and develop strategies.

experience or other experience. From a personal perspective, the company of which I am currently employed with have thrived efficiently during the Covid-19 pandemic. Being sought from a 100% work from office policy, my company’s senior management moved the relevant Information Technology (IT) support teams to prepare an individual laptop for every individual employee with recurring Virtual Protocol Network (VPN) connection to the company’s network. The employees were briefed that the company would soon adopt a work from home policy due to the rise in covid cases and all of these measures were taken months ealier before the destructive spread of Covid-19. When Covid-19 was finally recognised as a pandemic, the employees of my company were already settled in and there were no rush or emergency in deploying projects/tasks as all had been taken into the initial consideration. We managed to have a successful and efficient year despite many of our competitors facing a slump in revenue and efficiency. This was definitely due to ability of the senior management to conduct efficient scenario planning to define the scope, while analysing the uncertainties and developing various scenarios based from the relevant trend of the then premature Covid-19 influenza, which did then work out to be a business strategy for my company.
