put up- zatrzymywać się (gdzieś):

We put up at some small but pleasant inn.
(Zatrzymaliśmy się w jakiejś małej, ale przyjemnej gospodzie.)

take something out - wyjmować coś, wyciągnąć coś, wypakowywać coś

Take the tub of ice cream out of the bag and put it in the fridge.
(Wyjmij pudełko lodów z torby i wsadź do lodówki.)

keep up- trwać, nadążać:

If this situation keeps up, we will go bankrupt.
(Jeżeli ta sytuacja będzie trwać, zbankrutujemy.)

give out- odmówić posłuszeństwa, wyczerpać się, zużyć:

My legs gave out at the end of the marathon.
(Moje nogi odmówiły posłuszeństwa pod koniec maratonu.)

put something over - przekonywać do czegoś, mówić o czymś:

How do we put these ideas over to the public?

sell something off- wyprzedawać:

We are selling these clothes off - it's an old collection.
(Wyprzedajemy te ubrania - to stara kolekcja.)

pass out- mdleć:

He passed out from the pain. (On zemdlał z bólu.)

take something up- przyjmować coś, akceptować coś, podjąć coś, podchwycić coś
(np. temat)
Why did you take this awful subject up? (Dlaczego podjąłeś ten okropny temat?)

carry out- przeprowadzać coś (eksperyment, badanie), realizować coś, wykonywać

coś (np. zlecenia)
