Instructions: Explain your understanding of inquiry and research by answering the following

1. Compare and contrast inquiry and research.

Comparison between inquiry and research: They are generating new knowledge and
gathering information, both increase higher level thinking process. And it is too for building
knowledge and efficient learning. Lastly nourishment and exercise for the mind. And they are
both aim to augment knowledge. Inquiry and research are both involve systematic studies. While
the differences or the contrast is that when we say research it is use to solve a particular problem
and divided into two types which is the qualitative research and the quantitative research. And
allow students to gain skills such as organization, communication and attention to detail. When
we say also research it is systematic and formal investigation and study of materials and sources
in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions, while inquiry is the process of finding
answers to questions and easier to carry out than research studies. And the main aim is to solve
problems, resolve doubts, or augment knowledge.

2. Which is easier to carry out inquiry or research?

Based on my observation the easier to carry out between inquiry and research I think the
inquiry. Why? Because inquiry it’s an active process that gather’s information and it is not
complex like research.

3. Could inquiry and research go together? Explain your point.

Yes, Inquiry and research can go together because there will be no guiding force towards
research if there no curiosity or inquiry or simply a question or problem that needs to be
answered. Inquiry is a process of learning through questioning and observing. It’s about
engaging with your surroundings and asking questions about the world around you.
