MATERIAL SELF Material self is correlated with
the identity present in a
consumer culture based on

are also termed as the
consumer which gives life to

the term called consumerism,
which is defined as anything
that is related to buying any
materialistic wants.
SPIRITUAL SELF 1. A spiritual person is
more focused on the
development of divine
within oneself rather
than believing in the
existence of God. 2.
They believe that God
exists not in any form
but within our hearts
being omniscient. 3.
Religion as defined by
Oxford Press (2017) is
believing that there is
a divine being that
control powers and he
should be worshipped.
4. In line with this,
there are 5 major
religions: Islam,
Christianity,
Buddhism, Hinduism,
and Judaism.
SEXUAL SELF 1. First and foremost,
sexual self is
developed from the
PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING
As online shopping continually
emerges these days, my
impulsive buying is really out
of hand. Indeed, buying things
and shopping can really lift my
stress out and gives me a
temporary pressure from the
moment I open my packages. I
am kind of a materialistic
person because I love
receiving surprise gifts and
also giving gifts to other
people because it brings me
unexplainable happiness. But
one thing I hate about it is
that, that happiness is
temporary; after I open the
gift and be used to it all the
time, the value of it to me
losses and fades away.
As a Muslim, we are
obliged to perform a 5
daily prayer and to abide
the words of Allah S.W.T
and the actions of Prophet
Mohammad S.A.W.
Honestly, I am not too
religious. I don’t wear
hijab, barely prays the
required prayer, and often
forgets the things that
should be done. But this
doesn’t define my spiritual
self because I still believe
that only Allah knows
what to call me. And this
part of myself may not be
that obedient but I know
that I am trying my best
every day to better.
