I believe that each of us has a purpose that gives us an identity of who we are.

From the
moment that we are born, our souls have a purpose in which the moment we exist in the
world, we forget our purpose but we were driven by the fact that we have a purpose or a
reason for living. we already have a purpose but we have no idea what it was so in order
for us to know, we must learn more about ourselves and the world. We must live in order
to know about ourselves because how can we know our purpose if we stay at one place?
For me, our true purpose is a mystery that only we can solve. We don’t need others to
solve it because it shows that they are only learning about themselves as well as they don’t
know who you are because only you can know yourself. The reason that we are born into
this world is to find ourselves, our missing pieces and once we complete ourselves and find
out our true purpose, it will be the time that we are old and has seen as well as
experienced the world because we have gathered many experiences, met and interact with
many people and most of all, we have achieved and fulfilled our purpose to know about
our self and then we will depart in the physical world because we have fulfilled our goal,
our true purpose in life. It is up to us if whether we find our purpose because I believe that
our purpose can only be found if we have the courage to take the first step in moving
forward.

My philosophical perspective can be inclined to Socrates. According to Socrates, the

true self is the soul who acts as the morality compass in which we would use to
know what is right and wrong, he also stated that in order to live a Good Life, we
must “know oneself” which means that as human beings, we must question and
reflect on what is beyond our eyes can see, meaning we must learn to reflect and
questions the things that are beyond our understanding and control. The Socratic
Approach greatly supports my philosophical self in which Socrates believes that
there is a soul before the body, existing in the realms of ideas, where our soul is full
of wisdom and intelligence but when the moment that we are born or exist in the
material world, our soul forgot everything hence we have the capability to gather
our intelligence and wisdom by living our life to the fullest and my Philosophical
Self hence believe that from the moment we arrived in the material world, we
completely forgot what is our purpose and we tend to ask or question ourselves
what is the reason we are born so our soul are driven to find our purpose with the
questions and mysteries that surrounds our existence.
 Our self is greatly influenced by our culture and society because of the knowledge,
customs, traditions, beliefs and more that are taught by our families and individuals.
Our culture has been a part of our identity ever since we were young. When we are still
ignorant, we were taught of our values, culture, traditions and beliefs and as a result, it
has become a part of ourselves. If there were changes in our culture, then our society as
well as myself will be affected because it will alter my practices in our culture that will
affect my identity especially since culture has been passed down in every generations
that we have known and learned, it will greatly influence the society .The changes in our
culture will change our ideals as well as our values because our values depends on our
culture and our choices depend on our values but despite the changes in our culture, our
self can also learn to adapt to new changes. Our culture may change but it will taught us
to learn on adapting to new environment as well as our society. We will learn about our
self despite the sudden change but it will serve as our turning point in becoming a better
versions of ourselves.

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. It unravels the complexity
of mental processes such as cognitive, memory, feelings and thoughts. As such,
Psychology focuses on a wide range of understanding human behavior and how the
minds take control of not just the movement of a person but also the thinking capacity
of a human being.

As a human being and the moment that I understood that each one of us are given a
role in which we must play a part, there are certain salient characteristics that every
person possess in order to create an identity and authenticity of a person that gives us
a self-concept to recognize how we identify others base on their characteristics.

My self-concept can be described as a woman with determination to pursue her hopes

and dreams, extremely friendly and jolly, always laugh and finds joy in every
situation, an optimistic and ambiverted person. I am an ambitious, outgoing,
talkative, easy-to-please person who prioritizes her family and has a courageous heart
who is never afraid to face any challenges.

My self is highly connected to the Eastern thoughts as the Eastern are conservative people,
who prioritizes their family’s needs before theirs as well as following and respecting the
traditions and customs that were passed down by generations to generations.
 My Primary Characteristics:

These characteristics has defined my self-development but I have not

only progressed physically but the moment that I reached the puberty
stage, my perspective of life became wide as I grow maturely and
become aware of the life around me, that my life does not revolve on my
surroundings but how my actions and decisions can affect my future. I
learn to think and act independently.
 If I were given a chance, such as given a credit card, that
allows me to buy anything that I want, the things that I
would buy are;

The reason that these are the things that I want to buy
because I wanted my family to love a lavish life, the
life that we didn’t have because we lack financial
support. I wanted to let my family experience such
lifestyle because I don’t want my mother to tire herself
from working everyday and I want her to experience a
carefree life where she’s happy, I want to be successful
so that I can help my mother live a life she deserves
and so that my family can have anything they want.
The life I’m currently living is not so bad because
despite the situations we faced and the obstacles that
we tackled, we solved and found a solution to it as a
family as well as living happy and contented because
the day will arrive that I will be successful and all the
things that we wanted will be attained.

religion and the first prayer has helped me realize that there is a

who have risked their lives for our country and the traditions, customs
and morals that have been recognized to each countries of the world
that proved the uniqueness of a Filipino and from then on, I have
realized that these small acts have made me realized that as a Filipino,
I must follow and heed the needs of our country because it is where
my ancestors, countrymen and family resided in, I must appreciate the
culture and traditions as a way to give thanks to the contribution of
our history and most importantly, I learned that being a Filipino means
to never be ashamed of your lifestyles, beliefs and customs, no matter
which country you reside in because no matter where we are, Filipinos
are still a Filipino.
