A. INTRODUCTION
Ask the students if they know what pictures you will present and how many of those pictures they know.
Multimedia means that computer information can be represented through audio, video, and animation
in addition to traditional media.
The word multimedia comes from two Latin roots, multi and media. Multi means several or many and
media means in the middle.
This multimedia definition tells us that materials on the Internet or in your school and business
presentations involve several forms of communication to connect, that is, to be in the middle of the
sender and receiver. Also, multimedia can be recorded for played-back on computers, laptops,
smartphones, and
other electronic devices.
5 Components of Multimedia
Text Materials, Graphics or Photographs,
Sound or Audio, Forms of Animation.
Text Materials - It is Important components used in written explanation to deliver information in many
multimedia applications. They are characters used to create words, sentences, and paragraphs.
Example: Hypertext
Example: JPEG.
Sound/Audio - Any spoken explanation that stimulates imagination and can be added and combined with
all types of media.
Example: MP4.
Video Presentations - Clips or full videos that show information. They are a collection of moving pictures

combined with audio files.
Forms of Animation - Flipping through a series of still images. It is a series of graphics that create an
illusion of motion to display pieces of information with moving or still images and easily transferable.
2. Multisensorial - It uses a lot of the user’s senses while making use of multimedia.
3. Integrated and Interactive - All the different mediums are integrated through the digitization process.
Interactivity is heightened by the possibility of easy feedback.
4. Flexible. Being digital, this media can easily be changed to fit different situations and audiences.
5. Used for a wide variety of audiences - It can be used by various audiences ranging from one person to
a whole group.
2. It takes time to compile - Even though it is flexible, it takes time to put the original draft together.
3. It can be expensive - Multimedia makes use of a wide range of resources, which can cost you a large
amount of money.
4. Too much makes it impractical - Large files like video and audio need large storage. Adding too much
can mean that you have to use a computer with huge storage capacity to store the files.
It also support the presentations main points and help the audience to better understanding the
information being presented.
Technology can be used to assist you when you create your presentations. For example, you can
enhance your oral presentations with audio, pictures, diagrams, drawings, animation, and/or video.
Whenever those are combined, the result is multimedia. You can create and arrange your
presentations using PowerPoint Slides, for instance, which are also multimedia as they combine text
and images, and
sometimes video and other types. In this lesson, you will know how to choose the right
multimedia resource for your topic. Here are the things to consider in creating your
presentation.

Content - What material is interesting and engaging that is also appropriate for
your topic or subject matter?
You should think of multimedia as a way to emphasize your point. Try to connect
your topic to the experiences and interests of your audience.
Organization – What are the things that you will add and remove?
Create an outline of your main and sub points. You also need to
indicate the kind of multimedia that will improve your point.
Remember:
Use photos that help illustrate your point or enhance what your text is saying.
Use charts, infographs, and diagrams to help explain complicated information
or statistics to your audience.
A. DEVELOPMENT
It is also important to know that multimedia elements are divided into two parts:
1. Dynamic Elements
These are objects that move or change like video, audio, and animation.
2. Static Elements
These are objects that do not move like text and graphics.

Instruction: You will just identify what multimedia resources which will use in the different scenarios.
1. Mr. Dela Peña wants to know the number of sales they had in past 6 months. What multimedia resource

2. Mia will be sharing how to cook a delicacy she just invented. What multimedia resource will she use?
