    M = Man, W = Woman, W2 = Woman, M2 = Man 2

    M: Hi, how are you?

    W: Hi, yeah I’m fine.

    M: Are you free on Friday?

    W: Um it depends, why?

    M: How about an evening out, in a restaurant? With some other people from the office, a

    group of us.

    W: Oh I see, sounds good, Friday?

    M: Friday yeah, about seven o’clock.

    W: Where, which restaurant.

    M: Pizza Pronto.

    W: Oh I know it. Fantastic, how many people?

    M: Well there’s you obviously, and uh me and uh Peter and

    W: Do you mean Peter the boss?

    M: Yes Peter, the boss.

    W: I just need to check something, did you say Friday?

    M: Yes, Friday.

    W: Oh no, sorry I can’t, I’m busy.

    M: Busy?

    W: Very busy. Very, very busy sorry.

    M: Oh I see. Maybe another time.

    M: So Pizza Pronto on Friday, seven o’clock, would you like to come?

    W2: Do you want to go for a pizza, with the others?

    M2: Just one question. Is uh, did you invite Peter?

    W2: Oh.

    M: Peter, the boss?

    M2: Peter, the boss.

    M: Let me think, uh, Peter, Peter, Peter – yes I invited Peter, yeah.

    M2: Right, right Friday,

    W2: Um.

    M2: You said Friday, right?

    M: Friday yeah, seven o’clock.

    M2: Oh Friday it’s your ...

    W2: It’s my dance class.

    M2: Birthday.

    W2: Uh it’s my birthday and my dance class, sorry, maybe another time.

    M2: Yeah, another time.

    M: Yeah, another time.

    Yeah, well I invited her, no, she’s busy on Friday, yeah I invited them too, no they can’t

    come either, it’s her birthday and her dance class. Well actually there is a small

    problem, I’ve got an appointment at the doctors.

    Yes, yes it’s on Friday evening at seven o’clock, yeah. What a pity. So no I can’t come

    sorry. Yeah, maybe another time, bye – Peter.
