ACTIVITY 1

1. What learning technique is the most effective out of all the different techniques
that we have discussed today? Explain your answer.
"Do not be impatient with your seemingly slow development," Venon Howard
once stated. Do not attempt to run faster than you can currently. Whether you realize it
or not, you are making progress if you are studying, analyzing, and attempting. A
traveler strolling through the night on the road is still moving forward. Everything will
break open one day, in some fashion, like a rosebud does naturally. This idea is linked
to a student's desire to learn new things, such as mathematical principles
Practice testing and dispersed practice obtained high value ratings in the
research of Dunlosky, J., et al. (2013) because they assist learners of all ages and
abilities and have been found to improve students' performance across a wide range of
criterion tasks and even in educational contexts. Moderate utility was assigned to
detailed interrogation, self-explanation, and interleaved practice. The frequency with
which students reported using practice testing was significantly related to their final
exam performance (see also Hartwig & Dunlosky, 2012). Students who do not currently
use practice testing should be able to include it into their study regimen due to how
simple it is
Different learning approaches exist, and their effectiveness varies based on the
preferences of the student. As a math student, I favor distributive practice. Distributed
practice is a learning approach in which students practice in a series of small sessions
spaced out over a lengthy period of time with enough time between them. It helps me
absorb the principles of maths lessons with the intervals, and it's quite successful; I've
continuously received 90+ grades from elementary school to now.
Even if progress appears to be gradual, Howard was correct in stating that as
long as learners retain the material, it can be used indefinitely. In these epidemic times,
I also believe that too much information mixed with a short period of time might
demotivate students, particularly those from lower socioeconomic levels with
inadequate resources. Every child is different, and if the DepEd and CHED minimize
administrative demands on teachers and the government truly supports their needs,
teachers should give varied learning styles.
