Based from the identified qualities, which do you think is more applicable to you as a
person? Justified your answer.
In my observation to my own self, I am brave and resilient because whatever crux,
challenges and dilemma that comes to my life, I still stand firm and sturdily endure all the
twinges because I know for myself that all this trials and encounters are God given for us to be
knot with Him cordially. Addendum, I am also selfless and God-fearing because I help other
people first before me and I am devoted and believer to our redeemer and saviour Jesus Christ.
Directions: Differentiate Emilio Aguinaldo and Andres Bonifacio based on their political views.

Emilio Aguinaldo Andres Bonifacio

Emilio Aguinaldo led a revolutionary
movement against the Spanish colonial
government in the Philippines. Aguinaldo’s
style focused on centralization and top-
down approach with clear functions for the
various elements within the Katipunan .As
a former gobernadorcillo of Kawit, he was
used to operating within the colonial
bureaucracy ;the same state apparatus that
centralized most of the Philippines under
one political and economic system.
Aguinaldo would use his experience to
reshape his forces, first within his chapter
the Magidwang and then later with the
entire Katipunan. He was very much a
product of the system, and as may put its,
Aguinaldo’s goal was to fashion a
European-style army for the new republic.
Bonifacio’s decision-making process –
from when to launch the revolt to how the war
effort should be conducted –was consultative.
Again and again, he would regularly seek the
counsel of his men and other interest groups
within the Katipunan .In particular, May
emphasizes the pulong as Bonifacio’s preferred
medium. This echoed traditional Southern
Asian attitudes where rulers would pursue a
collaborative, inclusive approach in expanding
their networks, In a similar vein, precolonial
Philippine ‘kingdoms’ were made up of
networks of chiefdoms. This could also be seen
in the Katipunan’s hierarchy which was made
up of various sangguni or council. To prove his
capacity to lead, Bonifacio required their
assent, and had to be seen in the frontlines
acting as el supremo, the ‘man of Prowess’.

Among the two heroes, which perspective is more relatable to you as a Filipino? Justified
your answer.
I chose Andres Bonifacio over Aguinaldo which has a depth similitude of me. Unlike
Aguinaldo, Bonifacio did not finish his education. However, despite this limitation and
condition, he exhibited a natural intelligence and a sense of leadership. He sought to improve
himself by reading books among Rizal’s two famous novels. The lack of adequate education
did not hinder him from becoming the Father of the Philippine Revolution. Bonifacio’s life as
well as my behavior proves that patriotism require two essential ingredients; true love of our
country and bravery or being resilient. Alas, he was murdered by fellow Filipinos under the
decree of Aguinaldo. My silver-lining for all of this is to never forget how Bonifacio was
killed by fellow Filipinos. This is a reminder that our own countrymen can be our worst
enemies and that we always need to be prepared and cautious.
