I am writing to apply for the position of Lifeguard on the beach in Sussex which was advertised in
Monday’s edition of The Morning News.

I am twenty two years old and am currently studying the third year University. I have already gained
work experience. I have worked in a hotel abroad as a lifeguard for six month last summer and
understand the responsibility of this job. I know that the safety of patrons in my hands and I am always
diligent and aware that taking a break or to distract during work time is not a good idea. Also I like
swimming; i used to have swimming lessons in a special school when I was fourteen, so my swimming
skills are good enough. Furthermore, I can administer first aid and I am capable of giving artificial
respiration if it required. To ensure the protection of swimmers, I strictly enforce rules and can watch
over situations that could cause accidents. So, I would be happy to join your Lifeguard team.

I will be available for an interview any weekday morning. I enclose my CV and a reference from my
